How can I style these boots?⅕

No mean comments please, I really like them 😁

I've never been much cop at putting outfits together. What would go with these?

So are timberlands, that doesn't mean everybody wearing them look like they're going hiking or working on a building site.

What point are you trying to make because I'm confused?

You don't like the boots. I hear you. Please go and post on another thread.

Similar but not exactly. I'll post a photo.

I assumed they were like the ones in the OP, which in fashion terms were inspired by chunky welly style boots from the AW20 catwalks.

gertrudemortimer · 29/09/2022 10:49

I like these boots but I prefer them with the black soles. Hush are always showing ideas of how to wear theirs which are calf length, I'll probably settle on all black because I'm a pansy.

I said I thought the white was hard to style but like them in black & then you asked why people were calling them welly boots which I explained...

Sorry, I'm feeling a bit prickly after the earlier comments.

The point I was, probably badly, trying to make was that there are other boots out there which share similarities with footwear designed for a specific activity (work boots / wellies) but people don't write them off because of it.

I do have some similar, albeit shorter, in all black.

I haven't written them off though, I have ankle black versions 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh ignore the meanies, OP. They're the type to look faux-concerned at people in ripped jeans and offer to buy them a new pair 😂

My mum does this to me 😂

I don't mind either the style or colour of those boots but just like the combo together (I'd wear either black ones in that style or else light ones as a proper 60s style, less clompy with a heel).

Either way, a short skirt or dress and jumper.

xogossipgirlxo · 29/09/2022 11:23

They're very in fashion now. I would style them with dresses and skirts, God forbid with leggings or skinny jeans. I can see them with long line blazer and one of these tiny handbags 😅

haribonoyoudont · 29/09/2022 11:30

OP, you don't say what your body-type is / how comfortable you are with baggy vs snug clothes, but I love the boots and would probably team them with something like this and big ridiculous jewelry: www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-anyday-plain-ribbed-collar-bodycon-dress-black/p109130909

haribonoyoudont · 29/09/2022 11:30

Either that, or as others have said, a minidress of some flavour.

R0BYN · 29/09/2022 11:39

I don’t understand some of these comments and why people are being so nasty.

I don’t normally frequent this board as I’m neither stylish nor beautiful but it popped up in active conversations. I’m in my 60s and even I know that chunky boots like this are very on trend this season.

Ive seen similar boots worn with a midi dress like this but I think they work better with short skirts / dresses as Pp have suggested.

I'm 5 ft 3 and a dress size 12 currently, trying to get back to a 10. I actually have something very similar to that dress in my wardrobe! I'll definitely try that with the boots 🙂

I don’t know why people are being so unkind.
they aren’t my style but then it isn’t my money.
I think they’d go well with a jumper dress, or skirt with a loose jumper.

dudsville · 29/09/2022 11:47

They're great OP, and very fashionable at the moment which will always catch some folks off guard, and they're distinctive which won't be to everyone's taste. I like the trend for this at the moment but it doesn't work with my own style. I saw a slightly shorter version of these on someone yesterday. I thought she went a bit old school with it by wearing dark skinny jeans and a dark fitted jumper, which looked absolutely fine and nice, but these boots can also be paired with some great colours and I think there are a lot of nice looser and layered options that would be great with these.

dudsville · 29/09/2022 11:49

Ooh, i like what @robyn posted have a look at COS!

nancy75 · 29/09/2022 11:52

H&m have got a 60's looking black and white jumper dress (mini) that would probably work when it gets a bit colder

Black ones would be better and far more versatile. I think cream boots are very hard to style in winter and I love a style challenge!
