Experiences with a spa day?

I've had an awful few months at work and desperately need something to help me destress. I was looking at things to do and found a spa day nearby at Woburn centre parcs. I've never done anything like it before and have been quite body conscious in the past (though slowly getting over it now I'm learning to swim). Has anyone been for a spa day before? Did you enjoy it? Did you feel self conscious? Did you leave feeling more relaxed?

I’ve been to the spa there and it’s brilliant, really well done with loads of areas to relax in depending on what you fancy. You will get a robe which you can wear as you go round, only taking it off when swimming or going in to a steam room etc. so you shouldn’t feel too exposed there.

I went about 8 years ago and it’s my second favourite spa after Ragdale hall. I don’t remember other people there, my point being everyone is so in the zone of unwinding no one is looking at anyone else’s body. Enjoy! X

Nobody looks at anybody else. You just relax and unwind. Go for it.

I love a spa day. Although I do sometimes feel a bit conscious about my body (together with a friend who goes with me), really the experience outweighs any concerns. It's so nice to spend a day doing very little in a robe and treating yourself! There are so many different types of people there, including all ages, and I think you'll feel relaxed pretty quickly.

I went for a spa day a few years ago, on my own, just wanted to have a day to myself with some pampering and HATED it! Everyone else had a friend to chat to. Couldn't afford loads of treatments so was limited to the pool and steam room with the one facial I had booked. I was miserable so wouldn't do it again on my own. Went to another 4 years ago with some people I didn't know and it was marginally better having someone to pass the time of day with but could still think of many better ways to spend my money whilst relaxing -have decided that pampering just isn't for me!
