Can boots be worn with bootcut/flared jeans?

In an effort to get out of skinnies, I bought a couple of pairs of flared/bootcut jeans. This is one of them:
Esprit jeans

I've been wearing them with white stan smiths and a top tucked in. Is there any way of wearing these jeans with boots so that I can keep wearing them through the winter? They only ever seem to be styled with trainers. They can't be rolled up (and I can't wear jeans with ankles showing and boots, because I have short legs and they make them look shorter). Is there any style of boot that can be worn - super casually, so no heels - with these kinds of jeans?

They're boot cut - that means they're cut so they go over the top of the boot. I wear mine with DMs.

If you're asking if there's a way you can tuck them in - no. Not really.

I like them with DMs, as long as the jeans are long enough. Probs fairly high-waisted jeans with a tucked-in top.

Boot cut jeans look great with thick soled boots or square or pointy toe boots. The boot cut will elongate your legs.

Bootcut are exactly that - made to wear with boots. I'd wear a pair of chunky ankle boots with them.

@GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut , no, I'm not looking to tuck them in. Just want them to look ok.

I have some chunky hiker type boots (closest to DMs that I currently own). I didn't think they looked right but I can give it another try.

@Furnitureflipper , I don't want pointy toe. Too smart for running to the supermarket, and anyway, they hurt my bunions! I have a very casual lifestyle as I work from home most the time

I think they need boots with a bit of a heel - I wear mine with ankle boots with a block heel, or higher heeled boots. They don't look right with flat boots, or not on me.

I think we've been in skinny jeans so long that anything else looks odd. How old are you OP? I'm late 30s and lived in bootcuts when I was younger (in fact I resisted skinny jeans for ever because I thought the made my legs look like parsnips...) but if you're young enough to have not really worn them before I can see you'd not feel fully confident in styling them. Honestly - so long as they're the right length (just above the floor) in whatever boots you choose - they'll look fine.

Of course you can wear bootcut jeans with boots Grin

@GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut I'm 10 years older then you so was definitely around for bootcut first time round!

LOL The clue is in the name. 😁 Biker boots, cowboy boots with cuban heels, anything that's chunky.
