Warm gillet for inside the house

11 replies

notagainagainagainagain · 24/09/2022 18:46

Haven't had a gillet in years but want one for this winter for inside the house as I'm planning on reducing the central heating.

Can anyone help find me one?

I want one that has a snug comforting inside lining to it. Nice warm pockets. A hood would have bonus points.

Am size 10-12 and mother to teens. I'm quite short. I like practical but not old fashioned.

Shamelessly following as it sounds like a fabulous idea - sorry to not be of any actual help though! 🙂

My last one came from joules, but that was a few years ago.

Mine is from joules, but previous to that I had a fillet from landsend

both good and warm

i also have another padded fillet from primary which is remarkable warm with a hood

I have a Berghaus feather & down one, had it for years.

I'm considering this one, not sure about the warmth but it is wool: www.plumo.com/products/Light-Grey-wool-gilet-.html

@Pinkcadillac thanks. It's a bit beige though!

@ivykaty44 and @cheesemaiden, thank you but I think a bit too outdoorsy.

If you want one with a hood have a look at Jack Wills. I love mine, it's very practical and warm, and I love the fact it has a hood. Has pockets, and doesn't feel bulky to wear. I did remove the fur trim on the hood as my skin doesn't like acrylic! But otherwise I practically live in mine from Oct-April!

The king of all gilets is Schoffel, they are not the cheapest but so warm and snuggly. I got husband one and he has barely been out of it and I tease him that it’s his comfort blanket. Then I got myself one and now I have my comfort blanket that I live in, well worth the money.

I actually rate the Primark down jackets and gilets - they're cheap and warm and squish down into a little back to be stuffed in a drawer
