Secondhand leather jacket shops

Hi

I'm in the market for a secondhand leather jacket. BUT the generally don't work with my body type so I'd like to go somewhere they have a big range and I can try on loads of different shapes and sizes.

Does anyone know of anywhere with a huge selection?

In the 2000s there used to be a great one in Exeter but I don't think it the same type of "vintage" anymore. Although if anyone has been to The Real Macoy recently and can tell me otherwise then great!!

Sometimes you can buy better quality second hand than you can buy new and cheap though

More environmentally friendly too. We just looked on facebook market place.

Secondhand is probably higher quality & definitely better for the environment.

Yes as PPs have said, I'm hoping to get a better quality jacket by buying secondhand, it's better for the environment and tbh I love the look of an old leather jacket much more than new ones which are usually designed to look old!

Never found one though!

I think you need to try and work out what brands work for you buy trying on in full price jackets and then see if you can buy them on Vinted. zFor example trying on an All Saints one and then buying on Vinted or EBay.

as an aside, I handle a lot of vintage clothes for work. One thing that I’ve noticed weirdly is that oasis did some amazing leather jackets back in the day. (90s 00s) Incredible leather. Some of them haven’t felt so much different from high end leather like Prada?! Buttersoft, I’ve been consistently surprised by these old jackets, which come up often on eBay/ vinted all the time.

Yes I think this is a good plan.

I've been thinking about going to one or two big higher end department stores and finding some brands and shapes I love and then find those secondhand

That's really interesting, I would have thought of them so I'll include them in my search!
