Tote travel bag

Hi all looking for some suggestions for a tote/travel bag to use with a roller bag and use as a beach/round the pool bag general holiday bag.

I bought a Le Pliage, good size but when I checked inside I was surprised they are made in China, for £100 I could take a chance off ebay! Anyway its put me off the bag.

So looked at the DAY ET which look fine but I have not physically seen one. cannot find out where they are made either.

Wanting something canvas/nylon preferably not faux leather like the Mia Tui, but they do suit what I need. Want something light I can wipe over (hence the reason I like the Le P). I have older travel bags in leather which are great but as they are really good leather they are also too heavy

Anyone any ideas? Thanks for any suggestions

Just a bump as I am going round in circles trying to talk myself out of the Le P!

Women Tote Bag,Stylish... www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07SZG7LNW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share This dupe is nice. Same quality. I have le P and couldn’t justify the new price.

I got the Marc Jacobs one - it's fab! Huge size, looks good and fits everything in. A fraction of the price of the Chloe one too!

Alltheleavesarefalling · 25/09/2022 11:14

Thanks for your suggestions, not keen on the Marc Jacobs one, the print on the front not for me.

The one on Amazon is a no as well, prefer to have leather handles. But appreciate you posting.

I can’t help but interested in the same. I have Mia Tuis which are fab but they don’t look very classy. Was going to go for a Le P but not sure now

dalisdrippingclock · 25/09/2022 12:15

Honestly, I've had my Le P for 6 years, it's used often and has taken a battering but is still going strong. I really can't complain about the quality and cost per use is now minimal.

Day ET Gwyneth bags are good for travel day-et.com/collections/shopper-bags

I've got a Mia TUI Falmouth travel bag which I take on the plane and round the pool/to the beach. It's really useful with lots of pockets which I don't normally like and water resistant. It also fits over my suitcase handles and on my shoulder really well.

Same. I've got a couple of the large Le Pliage totes for travel/shopping which I've had for years. They've been dropped, thrown under plane seats, used as beach bags and they have held up better than any others I've had.

Alltheleavesarefalling · 25/09/2022 14:15

Unfortunately the Falmouth is only available in black, which is the one colour I dont want!

luckyrabbits how do you find the size of the Gwyneth? and how thick is the material?

See I keep coming back to the Le P, one thing that would really shift me over if they had a sleeve to go over the handle of my hand baggage.

If all else fails it back to another laptop bag I can get all I need in (I travel a lot and need change of clothes etc and other erm, 'stuff'....)

Thanks again for your suggestions and comments

Something like this? Got a Bottega Venetia vibe at a fraction of the cost.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 25/09/2022 14:49

Should also say it's neoprene so light and wipeable!

iloveburmese3 · 25/09/2022 14:52

Check out Mystylebags - an Italian brand super nice and chic

CMOTDibbler · 25/09/2022 15:03

I have a Mia Tui Jennie, and it is so darn practical, if I was going to take a bag to the pool or beach on holiday it would absolutely be that over an expensive bag. It slides onto my suitcase, is wipeable, pockets for everything, and I can fit an incredible amount into it for an overnight business trip. Plus it can be wiped clean of plane floor ick

I love this! I knew I shouldn't open these threads. I'm going nowhere and don't need a new bag!

LadyOfTheCanyon · 25/09/2022 15:49

I know, it's lovely, isn't it?

DSGR · 25/09/2022 16:20

Why wouldn’t you get a Le Pliage? I love mine, they last years, the black and navy wipe clean and are perfect. There’s a reason they’re a bestseller

Well after much faffing and looking at everything I could find, I have ended back up at square one with the Le P in dark red.

May need an organiser for inside, so if anyone has a one that works could you please let me know!

Thanks to you all for suggestions!

Well done OP. I think they are well worth the money

I recommend Handbag Angels for a liner. They do liners for a load of brands including Longchamp - link here
