What do you wear on your feet with dresses if you don't like Doc Martins?

I really don't like them, or many other chunky shoes/boots. I know most people love them and I'm in the minority, but I just don't.

Anyone have any other suggestions for reasonably smart footwear for dresses in winter? I'm a teacher but we have quite a strict 'smart' dress code in my school, so no trainers. Thanks!

I have a couple of pairs of "shoe the bear" brand Agda boots. They are very warm and comfortable. I also wear socks and Bostons but am guessing that's no where near smart enough!

I live in dresses but don't like DMs. I've got lace up boots, Chelsea boots, white, black and brown boots and loafers.

All flat, all mid - high level high street spend.

I buy from Russell and Bromley and Pretty Ballerinas (but buy the tassel loafer style not ballet flats).

What about face face boots? I have really old pair and still love them

I too live in dresses but don't like DMs. I've got lace up ankle boots in black, brown and navy, over the knee boots in black suede, black leather, and green suede, loads of ballet pumps in a variety of colours and materials red, navy, black, pink, cream, dark maroon, Quaker buckle shoes in red and grey , low heeled LKB courts in various colours, navy flat Mary Janes.

I wear brogues, loafers, sneakers, trainers or neat ankle boots, take your pick!

I like DMs.

I also wear ballet pumps and I have a couple of pairs of knee high boots. One pair are flat and the other have heels. Not particularly fashionable, but comfy and I like them!
