Please help me find this stranger's coat!

Spotted this navy hybrid coat/gilet at the station yesterday (lady with the olive green bag). It was lightweight and had a gilet body but with normal, non-shiny coat sleeves and bottom section. I'd love to find it for my mum. It wasn't a waisted style, just straight up and down. Couldn't ask her as I was rushing for a train. I've tried googling every search term I can think of, but drawing a blank.

Does anyone recognise it?
Thanks!

(model also had lovely hair, bag and diamonds, so might be expensive)

Please help me find this stranger's coat!

Dridrikson used to do a similar one , I can only find it in black though

It doesn’t look like it’s that one though

It's a bit strange to have taken a photo of a stranger then post it on a forum.

CountFoscoslittlewhitemice · 24/09/2022 14:06

It looks like a Uniqlo gilet over a coat.

Greystoke8 · 24/09/2022 14:11

You didn't have time to ask her, but you did have time to notice her, stop, open your phone to the camera, take the photo from behind her? Asking her wouldn't have taken more time. She's obviously standing in a queue. Next time just ask!

Fairly standard practice on S&B.

Admittedly it's quite a distinctive coat/bag/hair combo, so if she told work/spouse she was at home all day sick yesterday and employer/spouse is on MN then she's busted.

Welligogs?

nowlook · 24/09/2022 14:15

Thanks very much for looking! It definitely wasn't a gilet over a coat (the seams were really good). Agree the Didriksons one is the closest, but this one had matte sleeves with a slightly shiny gilet body. Mum struggles a bit these days with staying warm but not wanting anything heavyweight or too shaped.

Taking a photo of what's in front of you with the phone that you are already holding in your hand takes literally two seconds: I just timed it.

Fairly standard practice on S&B.

I've been here since c. 2003 and never seen a stranger photographed without their knowledge then posted.

Creepy behaviour

I’ve had people ask me where I had my hair cut, where I got my jeans etc and was happy to tell them as well as being flattered.

If I knew someone had taken a surreptitious photo of me and uploaded it on to a very popular forum I would feel uncomfortable.

I hate this sense of entitlement people have to do this (especially in gyms but that’s another story).

Yes I know it’s a public place in this instance with no expectation of privacy but it’s still weird.

Just ask next time

Oh well done you.... Now consider the rest of the situation and reconsider the story

Different issue: as I said, I think the woman is identifiable so it's not entirely unproblematic behaviour. I was just taking issue with your assertion that a conversation is just as quick as a phone photo, it's really not.

threadneedle · 24/09/2022 15:07

I think it might be a Herno coat, Google herno hybrid coat and you'll find something similar

diddl · 24/09/2022 15:07

Tom Tailor do something similar but maybe the quilting is too thick?

I was talking about the context I referred to.

The woman is standing in a queue. You are trying to tell me it takes less than 3 seconds to notice her coat, stop and stand exactly behind her and then take photo? Utter bollox

Very creepy behaviour. I often get compliments/ questions from strangers about my clothes. I'm very happy to respond. I'd be a bit creeped out if the person who asked about my vintage Laura Ashley riding coat a few weeks ago hadn't asked me, but had posted a picture of me without my knowing.
