Has anyone used these at all? Are they just a colour or will they protect my lips in the same way as a lip balm will? Are they any good?

Hi. I love the Clarins lip oils, smell great, really nice 'non-sticky' texture. They just seem to always be sold out everywhere. I have the honey and a peachy tinted one i cant remember the name of. Colour is a pale wash, or the plain one is nice on its own or with a lip liner :-)

forgot to add - I find them much more moisturising than an average lip balm, they don't have a vaseline type film.

I have one in the shade Candy.
It’s ok, but I won’t repurchase. I actually found it to feel quite thick and sticky, and not dissimilar to an ordinary lip gloss to be honest. I have another lip oil by Iconic London and I much prefer that one.

I've got it in the colour 'honey'. I wouldn't repurchase, it's gone a bit disgusting and only a couple of months old, gone from clear to cloudy, mostly due to putting it on on top of lipstick. Anyhow, I didn't get the fuss and expected a bit more since it was so hard to get a hold of.

Thanks. I’m going to New York in January and trying to find something that’s not lipstick or gloss but still looks nice. Thought I’d try something that’s not a normal lip balm. May be not a Clarins one though.

I got a small one in a promotion (buy 2 Clarins products and get a bag of stuff). Used for the first time today actually. Nice and shiny, not sticky. Doesn’t feel as moisturising as some though.

I love love love the honey one. It's really comfy on my lips.

When I was on isotretinoin I used this and aquaphor balm. They were the only things that provided relief from the dry lips.

I like nars orgasm lip balms, and Perricone no lipstick if you wanted just a tint of colour

I’ve had a few free with promotions and really dislike them. Find them sticky and to me they feel unpleasant on.
I love their natural lip perfector though.

marmiteloversunite · 22/09/2022 21:54

I prefer the Clarins lip protector in a tube. Moisturising with a colour but not as sticky as the oil. Also easier to apply on the go. I seem to have to look in a mirror with the oil.

I swear by Hourglass Lip Oil (one of the tinted ones). I wear it all the time and get lots of compliments. My lips are in great condition. It isn't greasy at all. The only downside is the price. Holy hell it's expensive!
