Spanx and static

Does anyone know if wearing Spanx under a polyester slip dress is going to give me more problems than it solves in the form of static?

Am I better to accept my wobbly bits and let them be free but have the dress hang nicely or have my wobbly bits tamed but risk a clingy dress?

If I wear something that creates static, I spray with haispray. Put your Spanx on, quick spray over with hairspray then put next layer on.

Ooh, ok. Might have a trial run of that.
