Hi wonderful stylish people. I have zero sense of style and am trying desperately to stop dressing in baggy clothes or clothes my mum would wear.
Anyway, how would you style a high waisted black denim skirt (midi length) for a size 18 youngish woman with zero boobs and a mum Tum, for autumn please? ☺️ any help or pics appreciated! Thanks

would love a midi black denim skirt where did you get it?

@TeacupDrama I got a fab midi black denim skirt from Hush. Have worn it loads.

I style mine with a simple bright cotton jumper/long sleeve top, nice belt and dr marten sandals. As the weather cools I'll probably just switch my sandals to chunky boots.

I don't have a midi one but I've worn my mini to death. In winter I wear it with super chunky black ankle boots (I have the prada monolith ones that I bought as a massive splurge after I got a bonus from work), tights, add over knee socks too if it's super cold, a chunky chain and an oversized jumper with the essential front tuck. I also love it with a band tee and a blazer, bodysuit and a distressed cardigan, fitted polo neck and a leather jacket, oversized sweatshirt worn loose so you can barely see the skirt. The possibilities are endless. Definitely invest in some chunky lug sole boots, Doc martens jadons are another fave boot of mine.

Thank you! Are you a similar size? I have just bought some chunky boots too. I don't think they suit me very much but I think they'll be useful?

Is it straight or A-line? Either would probably go well with a simple black scoop-neck top and a colourful cropped cardigan (with maybe a chunky colourful necklace too if you like wearing them). Maybe also a stripy top or jumper - again, keep it quite short. You sound like you feel bottom heavy, and both those combinations would help to balance that. I have some chunky black Fly boots that look very similar to DMs and I wear them with almost anything in the autumn, just because I walk a lot and they're the most comfortable. But I do think they go quite well with denim skirts. If your skirt is A-line, I bet it would go quite well with ballet flats too - FitFlop do some that are a bit more substantial and have comfortable supportive soles, but be warned, they come up slightly small.
