2 huge lines between brows - help

I am mid forties and have pretty good skin with few wrinkles apart from huge ‘elevens’ the two lines between my eyebrows. I’m not keen on the idea of injectables, but is there anything else that would work to fill or soften these? I’ve tried Clarins instant smooth to no avail. Any ideas? I think they are really ageing me.

Botox it great but usually wears off after 3 months.

I didn’t do anything! Then when this thread was resurrected I was prompted to look at frownies, then bought some Smoothies as they were cheaper and had better reviews. So I need to come back in a month and let you know how I get on. I can’t afford Botox at the moment even if I wanted to, so let’s give this a go!

Oooh I wanted to report back on this. I’ve been using the smoothies most nights for a couple of weeks and I do think they seem to be working. Essentially it’s a see through sticker (I don’t think it has anything on it apart from adhesive) so I’m not sure how it’s working, but do you think the lines are a bit less deep?

I agree, they are much better!!

What are smoothies? Are they like Frownies?

Magpiesalute · 02/04/2023 13:29

Yes, like frownies but I went with smooothies as they were cheaper and had better reviews on Amazon. They are also see through whereas Frownies are a brown colour I think. I’m definitely going to persist. I can’t afford Botox and these seem to be doing something so…hurray!

What a difference! FWIW, I used to have very noticeable 11’s and found that they improved no end with topical tretinoin. Prescribed in the first few years by a dermatologist and then the cheaper route of the monthly subscription services when they came out. I started on Dermatica but found that the Skin & Me formulation worked better for me in terms of side effects, plus I prefer the cream formulation over the vaseline type texture of the Dermatica. I have always used facial SPF but am even more diligent in using 30+ since using tret (you have to be as it makes you more photosensitive, plus you just undo all the work the tret is doing by not using UV protection). I also notice that they are much more pronounced when I don’t drink enough water.

I’m resisting Botox for as long as possible and would like to think that I can avoid it forever (I’m in my 40’s). I have feminist feelings about it and feel it contributes to the creeping normalisation of unrealistic aesthetic expectations put upon women of all ages. I know that’s not popular but there it is.

I’ve never even heard of tretonin! I’ll investigate. Thanks

It’s a prescription form of topical retinol 😊
