2 huge lines between brows - help

Magpiesalute · 20/09/2022 15:27

I am mid forties and have pretty good skin with few wrinkles apart from huge ‘elevens’ the two lines between my eyebrows. I’m not keen on the idea of injectables, but is there anything else that would work to fill or soften these? I’ve tried Clarins instant smooth to no avail. Any ideas? I think they are really ageing me.

Sorry to hijack OP but I have the same. Who do people recommend for Botox and approx how much for just that doing pls?

IloveStrawberrylaces · 20/09/2022 18:25

I'd like to know too how much it costs

icelolly12 · 20/09/2022 18:30

Get a fringe or botox are your best options.

I went for both options!
Here is a picture of my elevens four or so months after botox. I get it twice a year and am 53, I started for my 50th.

Try the SKN clinics. They are a reputable company. Prices will vary depending on your location and what you have done / how many areas you get injected.

I agree with your list of concerns OP. For me I just thought it's no different to getting my hair highlighted or using whitening strips on my teeth. It's still me, but with a few non-permanent tweaks to give me a boost!

I go back to get my Botox topped up once every year so the cost is not a lot for me spread over a year, - it works out as roughly the same as colouring my hair for example.

Don’t waste your time on creams. Get Botox.

I had really deep glabella lines like you, Botox has completely removed them. Even when it wears off, they don’t come back as before.

NowWhatUsernameShallIHave · 20/09/2022 18:43

Try using the Argereline serum from the ordinary
it won’t be like Botox but with regular use will hopefully soften the lines

happinessischocolate · 20/09/2022 18:44

I had 11 like that in my early forties but then my eyesight must have changed or I stopped frowning and they went.

10 years later I have no lines on my forehead at all. So Botox is not the only answer.

Lolacat1234 · 20/09/2022 18:45

I have a massive frown line on one side and I will say.......botox. Once you have it once you will never be without it! You don't have to go all crazy with it, I have a very small amount between the brows and on forehead and no one even knows I get it done, it's very subtle x

SpicePearl · 20/09/2022 18:47

I’m not sure if this is the same but I have crease lines on my neck and The Ordinary lactic acid & HA softens them enormously. It’s cheap and easy to get hold of and works within a week or so for me so worth a try! Just 2-3 drops on fingertips and pat over the whole face and neck.

DillDanding · 20/09/2022 18:48

I wish I had a before, but this is my 51 yr old forehead. I used to have such deep 11s and also horizontal lines.

Agree, Botox is your friend here!
I have mine done by a doctor or my dermatologist. They use a light touch to avoid the frozen look!
As a matter of interest, do you wear glasses? Are you frowning because of eyesight issues?

dicdicnurse · 20/09/2022 19:32

Another one saying Botox! I procrastinated about it for ages but even having only had it once I am thrilled with the result!

Magpiesalute · 20/09/2022 20:07

😂 After saying I don’t want injectables I’ve got almost a full thread saying to get Botox. And now I’m seriously considering it!

I’ll look at The Ordinary recommendations.

I have recently started wearing glasses for reading and on the computer. I think the damage has already been done though.

Imo you may as well try the lowest dose once. If you don't like it you can grow a fringe and let it fade out.

Magpiesalute · 20/09/2022 20:22

Can anyone give me an idea of price? I’m looking online and it’s vague, or per amount injected so I have no idea! I think they want you to have a consultation before discussing price.

I paid £275 for 3 areas. I'm in outer london.

OhMerde · 20/09/2022 20:27

Depends where you go but £150 to £200 is about average.

It's the easiest type of needle. Super fine and in to a bit of fleshy skin. Its about the same as plucking a tough hair. Mini sting and done.

You don't have to have more and more. I've been having it twice a year in that area for about 16 years. I haven't ramped up my frequency or amount.

I've used Frownies in the past. They don't really compare to Botox.

whiteonesugar · 20/09/2022 20:33

Botox is the way forward. I used to have a line across the bridge of my nose and it really bothered me. I also noticed some lines on my forehead. I have Botox now and they’re gone. It’s amazing. I usually have it every 4 months but trying to stretch it out now due to cost. It’s £225 for 2 areas where I go.

Top pic was 2018, bottom was last week.

Do you do shift work or anything? I noticed mine got so bad at one point but after stopping nightshifts after a job change they’re much less!
But I’m certain I’ll need a bit of botox there eventually! X

Pinkcadillac · 20/09/2022 20:40

I use Frownies from Amazon. They sound silly but they work.

Magpiesalute · 20/09/2022 20:51

Thanks everyone. @whiteonesugar your eyes are amazing, not sure I’d have noticed your lines!

Magpiesalute · 20/09/2022 20:51

No shift work. Maybe I should try frownies first.

Another option is a facial peel like a green peel - literally wiped off all my lines and I lost 10 years from my face in one week.

Myleakycauldron · 20/09/2022 21:14

Could anyone recommend some in / near London? Or maybe I need to start my own thread!

I have a horizontal line between my eyebrows and would like Botox but nobody in my circle admits to having it done!
