Project 333 for Oct-Dec

Anyone want to join me in attempting Project 333 for autumn (Oct-Dec)?

You basically pick 33 items to wear for 3 months, including clothing, jewellery, shoes and outerwear but excluding underwear (I'm counting vests in this), workout wear (ditto trainers/sneakers) and 'lounge wear' (which I'm counting as WFH/non-working-days-with-my-DD/slobby-weekend-at-home wear, as I don't want my nice 33 items to get covered in stains/snot!). So my 33 items will be for the office, outings, seeing friends/family and any social events.

I've found it surprisingly hard to whittle down to 33 items. If anyone's interested or wants to join, I'll post my list. I'm back at work after mat leave on 3 October - eek! - and planning to implement on 1 October. Interested to see if it reduces stress, frees up time etc.

Ooh I've been wanting to try this for a while I'll join you 😁 have you managed to get it down to 33 items? I'll have a first draft tonight! Uniform isn't counted though?

Great! No, I don't think work uniform should count, a bit unfair if it does as you're not choosing it!

My work dress code is pretty casual - lots of jeans and sneakers - but having slobbed around all mat leave I'm ready to feel stylish again 😁so wanting to go more smart casual on my office days.

I initially thought 33 would be plenty but the slots got used up fast! 🙈I have admittedly shopped a fair bit recently due to impending return to work so there are new items I really want to try out...

Here's my list:

Jewellery:
Pearl earrings
Gold hoop earrings

Bottoms:
Navy cigarette jeans (high waist)
Black cigarette jeans (high waist)
Beige trousers (high waist)
Black cropped trousers (high waist)
Leopard-print midi skirt
Navy midi skirt
Black pencil skirt

Shoes:
Flat brown lace-up ankle boots
High-heeled black lace-up ankle boots
Flat tan Chelsea boots
Flat brown loafers
Black low heels

Tops:
Classic white shirt (need to buy!)
Long-sleeved black and white Breton
¾-sleeve navy and white Breton
Long-sleeved black polo neck
Long-sleeved camel polo neck
Long-sleeved cream polo neck
¾-sleeve black top with buttons
Short-sleeved white tee
Short-sleeved white and navy Breton

Knitwear:
Mustard yellow puff-sleeve jumper
Emerald green polo neck jumper
Black polo neck jumper
Camel jumper
Grey cardigan (need to buy!)

Dresses:
Black wrap dress
White shirt dress

Outerwear:
Khaki trench coat
Grey blazer
Camel coat

Low on dresses but having looked at them all, most are more spring/summer appropriate really. I might get some jumper dresses for Jan-Feb-Mar.

Also I'm being naughty and not including bags, but I only use two - a power-walking-to-work backpack (reckon I can count that as workout wear 😄) and a tan cross-body bag for everything else. Also not counting gloves, scarf, hat - will consider those when it gets properly cold!

Look forward to seeing your list!

hi @cirillaofcintra how is this going? I'm thinking of doing this at the weekend. I love the sound of your list and style. I've already massively minimised my wardrobe and put away or got rid of stuff I don't like or doesn't fit (and even if it fits again am not fussed about). I've started listing outfits out of what I have left and that's already making getting ready in the morning much easier!

@itsmeagainagain Glad to have you on board! It's going great so far, but my plan to keep the 33 stain and snot free by only wearing them for work and social stuff was very naive, I'm finding...!! My tan tailored trousers got DD's milk spilt down them after work on my very first day back and its still faintly visible after washing 😂Think I'm going to have to accept this as part of working mum life. 😅

But it's definitely made getting dressed less stressful - most of the 33 all go together so I just take an outfit out the night before and hang it on the wardrobe door - done and done. It's my bloody hair thats taking all the time in the morning - I made the mistake of getting a bob that looks best wavy, but I don't have naturally wavy hair...cue 30 mins with the styling tongs before work.😖

It feels great to purge your wardrobe doesn't it? I don't miss anything I got rid of and can't believe how much "meh" stuff I had stuffed into wardrobes and drawers that never got worn!

Look forward to seeing your list, let me know how you get on. There's so many outfits you can make from just a few items if they mostly go together.

@cirillaofcintra how has it been back at work? Tan tailored trousers sound lovely (minus milk 😂) I tend to wear dark coloured bottoms as I am an overweight pear shape …. I’ve already done a massive cull but am hoping to just set aside the 33 times this weekend or maybe it will have to wait til half term… im trying not to use it as ab excuse to buy more stuff though! I’ve already found getting dressed so much easier with less options and im enjoying creating outfits by layering a jumper over a shirt for example. I gravitate to quite a neutral palate in winter such as black grey and white but I love bold accessories like a bright bag. Am planning to lay out a few outfits on my bed and take pics for daily inspiration. I’m sure your hair looks lovely. Do you use straighteners to get the wave? I find it really quick to do that… quicker than straightening actually….

@LemonLemin hows your 33 times looking?
