dh bought me a pair of beautiful (and quite expensive) leather gloves for my birthday
they were the right size and fit beautifully snugly when he brought them home for me
2 weeks later they were too big and now they are hanging from my hands - it feels like having a couple of bags on my hands; they are certainly not safe to drive in. They don't look smart at all, they look baggy and crumpled.
I just went down to the shop to see if they had any smaller ones in the sale; the woman said to me "Oh yes they do stretch, the leather is so soft"
however now I have come out of the shop I am thinking this can't be right? Is this some code that only Stylish Rich people know to ensure that oiks like me don't have nice gloves?
Surely if the gloves are going to stretch so much and they are aware of that (and bearing in mind that this is one of those lovely independent little shops and not a massive dept store) they should warn customers to buy a smaller size? Would it be reasonable to go back in and complain or is this just some unspoken female coded knowledge that I was not privy to?
Anyway if it was such knowledge shouldn't they have shared it with a bloke buying a present?
