where can I find 100% cotton white shirt sleeved school shirts for my daughters in a size of approx age 11 and 7?

I am in Texas and my children attend private school to keep them safe from the Trumpers. There is very little selection for school uniform and everyone goes to the one shop which is horrendously expensive and poor quality.

The girls wear short sleeved white shirts. It’s hot and the polyester shirts I picked up from Next stuck to them. I tried the Tu shirts too. Same thing. I ended up spending more and trying the John Lewis 100% cotton shirts. The girls do not have rashes from these shirts but they are permanently creased.

I just ironed them straight out of the washing machine and they are a mess. The principal sent a note to ask if the shirts had been ironed. Hmm yes they are ironed with a super duper iron that jets steam like a volcano about to explode.

I get mine from M&S. All cotton/linen stuff gets washed using either no spin or the slowest speed possible (they come out just dry enough not to be dripping) then hung up to dry. They have hardly any creases....until DS has put them on and managed to look like he's been dragged through a hedge 10 minutes later.

We use the John Lewis ones and if hung up nicely only need a quick going over with the iron. Sometimes I don’t bother as they drop out themselves.

It’s really odd because I ironed the JL ones and they are unbelievably creased. When I get home I’ll take pictures.

M&S ones, in the tumble dryer then hung up immediately. Don't need ironing although our school isn't very strict on creases!

Here is a picture of the shirts after ironing them damp to get the creases out. They look very crumpled.

I have an excellent iron. It’s definitely not the iron because my clothes comes out perfectly. It’s just these shirts!

I double checked and we’ve got the polyester/cotton mix shirts 🙈 from the Anyday range. They feel so nice I assumed they was 100% cotton!

The same thing happened to the M&S 100% cotton ones I bought! I had to throw them away, they were unwearable. I’ve now bought the M&S easy iron ones.

Ugh. Thank you for replying.

It’s super hot where we live. My youngest in particular has beautiful soft skin which is easily clammy. I guess I have to move on to cotton vests under polyester mix shirts. Good thing I’m back home Wednesday and can visit Sainsburys and M&S.
