Birk Boston Clogs with socks

I’m quite taken with this look, and I’m seriously considering buying a black shearling pair.
Does anyone have any tips on how to make this look work? I have a couple of ideas but keen to hear more as I need to be confident I’ll get good use out of them for the price.

I got black leather Bostons last year, and tan suede ones this year. Love them! I wear them with chunky knit wool socks, but only really round the house for WFH. It rains too much here to wear them out beyond summer really. In summer I wore them with dresses and mom type jeans, and bare feet.

I have some Boston dupes and some Ugg type sheepskin boots. I’m waiting on hip Surgery and can’t put real shoes on presently. So I have been pondering the socks question, altho I have to use a weird sock thing to get them on. I think slouchy or straight work, I love the Falke socks( but not the price). But ordinary socks with a tighter strip at the top look wrong. I quite like these from Cos.

Ooh, thanks for the tips all! I was actually looking at some of the Cos socks to go with them.
Something I don’t understand is why the shearling ones are only available in a narrow fit. My Arizonas are regular width but on the tightest bottom buckle, can anyone advise how much of a difference the narrow makes?

Love this too! Can I ask what the best dupes are please? The Birkenstocks are beautiful but a cheaper version would be amazing.

I once bought narrow fit Bostons by mistake on eBay and they pinched on the toes and also I could feel the edges on the sides all the time. It made a huge difference and I imagine if they are lined, they’ll be even tighter. I had to put mine back on eBay and sell them again.

No boring socks. Decent quality, interesting colours/patterns.

So I went on a bit of a shopping expedition and tried on a couple of variations of Bostons that were available but didn’t buy any. I’m still going round in circles a bit on the shearling, I like the idea of them being warm on cold days but they are suede so realistically they can only be worn on cold but 100% dry days. Alternatives for me are the oiled leather and the Vegan which both look matte dark grey so softer finish than black suede. Can anyone help me pick please?

These are the oiled leather if that helps? I’ve just changed into leggings and cosy socks after a brisk walk in DMs!

pink suede? Black oiled? Try and find natural… do I really want them? I’ve never felt so undecided!

Halfinger grizzly are similar and loads cheaper if you're just using indoors.

I’ve been wearing these for years. I’m finally fashionable. I have both Normal and shearling and v wide feet

i much prefer the normal ones, I’d not actually clocked the shearling are narrow but in retrospect they are

also I fear the shearling getting grubby and gross so don’t wear them outside so much

@Handsnotwands - I think they all come in either narrow or regular width actually.

I think a company called oxygen do a dupe.. ( called clogs)? I got some of e bay .

I fear mine may indeed be narrow. They’re ok but I remembered what else I don’t like so much. The shearling ones are not squashy and cwtchy like an Ugg (perhaps to be expected) but I believe the normals are a “soft footbed” which is delicious and the fluffies are not.
