Where can I find some nice tops?

I’m short of tops and finding it hard to find what it is I actually want - possibly because I can’t quite define it myself! Full disclosure I mainly shop in supermarkets or second hand these days but everything that isn’t crop is either glittery or frilly or has shirring or a garish pattern.

I want tops that look reasonably smart on teams calls but not overly formal as that’s a tiny part of my day/ week really. Kind of smart casual, would work with jeans but also could get away with smarter trousers if needed to go to a work meeting for example.

Don’t want:

  • shirts
  • anything too ‘blousey’
  • much in the way of embellishment at all really! But do like there to be something of interest whether it be the fabric or a subtle detail somewhere
  • Anything too stretchy/clingy
  • anything resembling a tunic - I think I spent too many years in tunic type tops and leggings/ skinnies and feel so fat and frumpy in them now

Basically something that’s a step up from just a standard long sleeve t-shirt, but not a full on glitzy ‘dressy’ top as my mum would have called it.

Kicker is it needs to be a size 18 and accommodate 38G boobs. I don’t particularly want to show cleavage though.

I can stretch to about £20 a top, but if there are more expensive brands out there that have what I’m after it would be good to know then I can at least hunt for them on Vinted and the like.
