Flattering autumnal dresses

I am a recent convert to dresses - I wore lots over the summer! I am now looking for autumnal ones. I'm a size 12/14, 5 foot 6, 36C, light brown/blond hair, and aged 47. What do wear under them as find tights uncomfortable! I'm not into frilly, flouncy type dresses but flattering styles!

Not gonna happen 😄

It's all prairy dresses still

Puff sleeved and nighty style

Seasalt is a bit too old for me

Maybe Joe Browns? Not very "fashion" though

What sort of dress do you find flattering? I suit fit and flare bit that is out of fashion

I've just ordered the Athena , Mae and Asena dresses from Hush .
Hoping they will replace my lovely summer numbers.

As for what to wear under midi dresses, I wear cropped leggings and trainers until it's too cold for bare ankles, and then full length leggings or footless tights plus chunky socks and DMs. I don't like the feel of tights around my toes.

Get some snagtights. Soooo comfy.

I'm currently really linking the knitted sleeveless turtle neck dresses that are around as am alternative to all the flounce.

I'm imagining one of those in a midi length with a satin blouse underneath. Just needs to be cold enough here. Tu has a caramel coloured one that is my current favourite, probably paired with a cream shirt I already own.

I also like the idea of putting a knitted sleeveless top over a long sleeved floral dress. But the top needs to be short enough. It takes away alot if the girlyness, but retains the comfort.

I’ve actually found Mango great for non frilly dresses and the quality is good for the reasonable price. I’m currently losing weight so didn’t want to spend a fortune but am really impressed.
