Heel inserts for Dr Martens! Are they all made equal?

I've completely splurged and bought a new pair of boots, but they are about half a size too big. They initially didn't feel it, but after wearing them they definitely move around the ankle and have given me a blister. Annoyingly I've worn them out so I can't return/exchange them.

But of a boring question really - will a heel insert fix this? All all inserts the same, or are there any recommendations of good ones?

Thank you in advance!

My Jadons are gappy and rub the back of my smaller foot, so I double up on boot socks on that side. I've also bought thick, fuzzy insoles for other too big shoes that helped, but I've never tried a heel insert. In desperation when I was first wearing them in I did shove loads of tissue in at the back and it worked well, so I think it'll do the trick! :D

I do exactly this just to provide some arch support for my plantar fasciitis. I'm normally size 7 but Docs in a size 8 with insoles fit me perfectly.
