When did Dorothy Perkins become so expensive?

Used to live Dotty P's, decent enough quality for jumpers and dresses, nice print, good for wee shoes and bits and pieces.

Had a quick look online and now they want £40 on average for a dress and that's their sale price?!

I know we've got inflationary pressures, but they seem to have gone up rather high in comparison to other retailers.

Oh well, another staple likely to go the way of the dodo.

Their high street stores have gone the way of the dodo. I used to love their shops, but haven't thought of going online to browse. Yep, if that's the best they can offer, goodnight Dotty P.

We used to have a mini Dorothy perkins and wallis in our local massive Tesco which was great for a non-Tesco clothes easy shop. But since lock down they seemed to go and never came back

happyinherts · 14/09/2022 22:56

@Anothernamechange3 Was that the Borehamwood Tesco?

I really miss Dorothy Perkins!
It just fitted me. Didn't realise that they were still online.

It's BooHoo now. Like all the other Burton group brands - Wallis, Evans etc

No, in York. I guess there must have been a few with these concessions. This Tesco is round the corner from my office so was great for a lunchtime shop. F&F on its own isn’t quite as appealing

@Anothernamechange3 I know what you mean. We had Evans, Dorothy Perkins, Wallis and a men's shop, Burton or Top Man? They never re-emerged after Covid. Such a shame. I don't care much for online clothes shopping. Like to see a fabric first. Tesco now has Homebase - not quite the same!!!

Ah, I knew they had changed hands recently but wasn't sure who it was. I think they've alienated their market then.
Shame.

Used to love Dorothy and know when ordered last year things weren't as expensive but now...like you say sale items are pricey too! Its a shame really as nice clothes but the quality was never worth those sorts of prices

I tell you what has shocked me in recent months, Yours Clothing, they used to be nice and cheap and now they're quite expensive I think
