Does anyone recognise this coat?

Rain coat/ fisherman style soft material but longer with slight fishtail at the back.
I saw it in pale/sage green with a fine, pale green pinstriped hood lining, but ideally I would want a black version.
Square pockets with black poppers, think the main zip was concealed but not sure.
May have had cord toggles aswell
Has a storm flap type thing (?) across the back shoulders that overlaps
No visible branding anywhere

🤔

Check seasalt

Sweaty Betty?

Guineapiggiesmalls · 13/09/2022 23:23

Sounds like sweaty Betty stride?

goldfinchonthelawn · 13/09/2022 23:27

Seasalt?

Doesn't have patch pockets but could be an older style that you saw.

goldfinchonthelawn · 13/09/2022 23:28

Look at the green version of the coat in the link. It has green striped hood lining like you described.

Paddingtonthebear · 14/09/2022 13:35

Thank you, not Seasalt, different pockets and striped were much finer. Shape different too, the one I saw was a bit more modern.

The most recognisable part is the way the storm flap thing at the back folds across its self, haven’t seen that design on anything else

Storm flap overlaps I meant across the back/shoulders.

Not Sweaty Betty either

Rains? Not sure about the stripey hood lining though.

Paddingtonthebear · 14/09/2022 13:53

Similar to Rains but not. I would say a bit longer as well, less boxy

it actually looks quite similar material and style to a petit bateau rain coat, except it was a bit longer than they are, and had the cross over storm flap which those don’t seem to have.

I don't think this will be it, but if you want a raincoat that will definitely keep you dry it's worth looking into Didriksons, they do quite a few so worth looking at as quite a few options in black.

Paddingtonthebear · 14/09/2022 19:28

Thank you! I have tried Didriksons before but I find their arm lengths too long unfortunately

Could have written this about Rains! I feel as though the Scandinavians have very long arms! I just lost my much beloved Rains jacket so am following this with interest.

MushMonster · 14/09/2022 21:24

Something like this? Is that what you mean about the flap coming to the front?

Does anyone recognise this coat?
Paddingtonthebear · 14/09/2022 21:53

Sorry no I used the wrong description! I think it’s called a vent, the flap that runs across the back across the shoulders. instead of being one flap, it’s like two semi circles that overlap. Other than that and the fact it was a longer parka style, it’s pretty similar to Rains or the other European coats, but I know it’s not one of them as it had a very fine / thin pinstripe inside the hood lining, And different pockets. Looks a bit more grown up than the usual rain coat style

SpinMeRightRoundBabyRightRound · 14/09/2022 22:22

This isn’t it because the lining is tartan but I’m trying to picture the storm flaps, was it like this and circular round the front of the shoulder too?

Paddingtonthebear · 14/09/2022 23:04

No, sorry I’m prob not describing it very well. No flaps to the front at all, just small, overlapping at the back, under the hood
