I am very early 20's and really interested in getting some Veja shoes, however my feet are only size 2.5 (2 in converse) I was wondering if I would need to size up to size 3 for them to be comfy? Thanks :)

is this a joke post?

Why would it be a joke?

I mentioned I am early 20's so people could tell me if the shoes are suited to my age...

Age appropriate

LilacPoppy · 11/09/2022 14:30

Ahh ok then to answer your question no thru not age appropriate. Air Force 1's be a better choice.

Watapalava · 11/09/2022 14:39

veja are really quite mumsy and old fashioned

however they are true to size so a 3 may be a bit big and a 2 too tight

there are certainly cooler trainers for someone in their 20s

Salamander44 · 11/09/2022 21:52

”age appropriate”? Really, this is still a thing?

Mosso · 11/09/2022 21:54

But are they comfy? My feet are in bits after a day walking around Edinburgh yesterday

SmallestInTheClass · 11/09/2022 22:04

Where I live they are worn by mid 40s try hard school mums.

They are also worn by this 50 something GP 🤣🤣
I have had young people in their 20’s say they like my shoes.

OP I am uk size 3 and bought size with lots room. I undue the last lace so tongue doesn’t dig in. I have the vegan leather ones. They took a while to break in but are now very comfortable.

Alwayswonderedwhy · 11/09/2022 22:25

They're known for being a mum trainer where I live. I've not noticed any younger people in them.
The name is unfortunate and puts me off.

PhotophobicPhyllis · 12/09/2022 07:48

I love my Vejas, but then I'm in my latish forties. Wondering if something is "age-appropriate" is itself a sign of middle age - in your twenties you can wear anything you like and if you like them then get them.
I'm a size 3 and take a 3 in Vejas even though I normally size up in trainers.
I hear you re. Edinburgh and the sore feet. I was there recently and even though the Vejas are super comfortable for my day to day here at home, the hard pavements (are they granite?) and the increased amounts of walking meant they weren't up to it. They didn't hurt or anything, just that there wasn't enough cushioning on the sole and I bought a pair of normal, not fashion, trainers for rest of the trip. If Edinburgh's where you normally live, as opposed to just visiting and doing the sight-seeing marathon, Vejas probably fine for day-to-day walking around.

PhotophobicPhyllis · 12/09/2022 07:50

Just realised the question about size and the mention of Edinburgh were two different posters. Apologies

Jobsagoodun1 · 12/09/2022 07:58

Wear what you want OP. They are clean and fresh looking trainers. You will probably be ok in a 3 as they are narrow.
Tbh, I don’t really understand how a trainer can be too old or young for someone. Veja is the same shape as lots of other trainers. I would be more concerned about whether they go well with the clothes you wear and your own style.

Frogium · 12/09/2022 09:09

Stop being ageist. It's a bad look

Readaboutyourself · 12/09/2022 11:01

They have several different styles and look fab whoever I see them on which is mostly well dressed women in their thirties. I live in a large affluent town.

I don’t understand the age appropriate comments at all.

The new chunkier styles are a bit more modern but I like their more Stan Smith style trainers.

What trainers should I get if I’m late 30’s but want to dress like I’m early 20’s? 😂

mrsnjw · 12/09/2022 15:18

I'm nearly giving and wear vejas as do all my friends. I'm a six and they fit perfect. They are very comfy as are my converse. Wear what you like x

mrsnjw · 12/09/2022 15:19

Nearly fifty

fiorentina · 12/09/2022 16:24

I work with colleagues in their twenties who wear Veja. But I don’t think you need to size up particularly.
