Has anybody bought boots/shoes from Lanxs? I have my eyes on these Dinckley Boots Does anyone have any of their boots? Are they worth spending £190 on? I have never come across the company before.

They just look like DM imitations to me?

I bought Lanx boots last Winter after reading about them on here. They are a great boot - comfy from day one.

Not like DMs made in China. They are a British made boot. Far superior.

I started out looking at DMs but don't want to buy DMs for various reasons and then stumbled across these, but I have never heard of the company before. It's hard to judge the quality online. I might order a pair and see how they look and feel in real. I can always return if they are flimsier than the pictures suggest.
I like those too @TheLassWiADelicateAir but I'm after black ones at the moment. There are some reduced ones with black grained leather and I like the leather but not that the sole is dark grey rather than black.

They have the brown ones I like in black. I'm probably looking for a more girly style than you to wear with skirts and dresses. I'm very tempted by the LANX boots. So many of the "girly" boots have zips which I don't like. I want authentic, laced up Lancashire mill lass/ Victorian servant girl boots !

You might find something you like on Cheaney. Here's their ",girly" boot but they have chunkier.

I'm torn between LANX Chipping and Cheaney Anna.

Thanks for posting this, it's not a company I know of.

Are they as cripplingly painful as DMs?

They look a lot more comfortable.

The zips are what is putting me off a lot of the other boots I have seen as well @TheLassWiADelicateAir I know it might be a lot easier to put them on/off with a zip but it doesn't feel right for me. The Cheaneys look good, I don't think I can bring myself to spend that amount of money right now.
I'm going for the chunky boots with dress/skirt look, it suits me (at least I'm telling myself that). I also don't have to dress very formal for work, and if there is an occasion when I do need to dress up more, I have something for that.
Ok, I shall order a pair, after much fretting about sizes, and I'll report back.

Not at all. I wore from first day and no issue.

I have the Dinkley, they are a gorgeous boot, I am always complimented on them. They were comfortable from day 1. They are well worth the money. I love mine.

I have also worn Solovair (original DM's), I would say Lanx are a cut above those. Made the comparison with them as similar price range.

Thanks @NiceTwin
Are they true to size in your experience? I might actually do what they recommend and order two sizes and return one.

Oo I have these in bottle green, they're lovely. Wore them out for a few hours and no blisters at all. I think there's a 15% off your first order code out there and I got £12 back to spend in loyalty points. Much better than DMs IMO,I sold all mine as they were so uncomfortable.

I have both boots and shoes from Lanx and they are superb quality. Very comfortable from the start and British made. I bought in the sale (and got free socks too), but I would happily pay full price for them. I think returns are free too??

They are gorgeous. I just bought a pair similar but much cheaper Blush from John Lewis Anyday. They too have zips which I think are a game changer when you're beating the morning click.

I ordered the Dinckleys, quite excited now.

My mornings have calmed down a lot since the children are teenagers @Vitriolinsanity and dd is off to university (freshers' week starting today) and I have a very short commute, but at some of my more frantic times I'd probably would have gone for a zipped version too.

Mine arrived today. They're firmer than I expected but very comfortable. They are beautiful.

I love them fact the sole doesn't look clompy but still has a rubber grip layer. They look properly cobbled and more expensive than they are, and far classier than Doc Martens.

Oh and husband confirmed they do indeed make me look like a Lancashire mill lass, so that's good.

Sounds good @TheLassWiADelicateAir
Mine won't arrive until tomorrow according to an update from Royal Mail. Shipments often take another day to reach us here in rural West coast Scotland.

@Igneococcus can you please tell me how you find the boots? I’m sorely tempted and would be interested in another review

Report

I sent them back to exchange them for ones that are half a size bigger. @PissPotPourri They were just a little bit too small for me. They looked fantastic and really well made, but I can't tell you about how comfortable they are yet because I just worn them for a few steps around the house so far. The new ones are scheduled for delivery tomorrow. I'll update once I've worn them for more than a few minutes.
I've seen a 10% off voucher somewhere. I'll see if I can find it and if it's still valid.
