I am mid 40s. Still have oily skin (t zone) and spot prone, but no wrinkles. I am prone to redness.

I have tried a lot of stuff from the Ordinary and what I keep using:

  • niacinimide and zinc
  • hylauronic acid
  • glycolic toner
  • retinol
  • marula oil (at night)
  • the red BHA face mask/treatment

I have tried lots of redness correctors and Rosalique is the best

laura mercier primer is best for staying non greasy for longest (I’ve tried A LOT of primers)

Charlotte tilbury flawless filter for a bit of a glow - don’t particularly rate anything from else her range

All eyelash serums I’ve tried have worked so I buy whatever is cheapest

I'll bump this as I can agree with ...

Rosalique - amazing stuff for evening out skin tones prone to redness, rosacea etc.

Lura Mercier primer - also amazing!

Charlotte tilbury flawless filter is a nice subtle glow - I rate Iconic london spray ( prep set prime ) a little more but it's a different formula really.

• niacinimide and zinc
• hylauronic acid
• glycolic toner
• retinol
• marula oil (at night)
• the red BHA face mask/treatment

I don't know about the last two but I use a combination of niacinamide and retinol in my dermatica prescription.

A glycolic toner, and hylaronic acid are also in my skincare routine.

I'm 50, few faint wrinkles now thanks to a lower face and neck lift so I also use Obagi elastiderm around my eyes, Perricone MD on my neck and décolleté and good old Aldi la cura night cream everywhere else!

Also agree that any old eyelash serum works, I used to use rapid lash but I've found several cheaper ones that work just as well.

It's nice to see recommendations for different routines and products.

Can you please link to a cheaper lash product that has worked just as well as the higher end stuff?

bjjgirl · 12/09/2022 06:50

For growth of eyebrows and eye lashes castor oil can not be beaten

HermioneWeasley · 12/09/2022 19:28

@JMAngel1 this one has worked for me. Disclaimer - I haven’t used an expensive one so don’t know if it’s as good, but it definitely makes my lashes longer

How do you use the hylautonic acid and marina oil? I need a better night time routine !
Thanks

HermioneWeasley · 12/09/2022 21:49

I use the hylauronic acid in the morning - niacinimide, then hylauronic then rosalique then primer then make up

I use the marula oil at night as a moisturiser after the glycolic acid toner. A few Tim’s a week I use retinol instead
