Iris or Lily?

Recently got a new job, earning a little more money and each month I am managing to put some savings away. For my entire adult life I’ve always wanted to treat myself to a designer handbag but never had the extra money to spend until now.
I’ve decided after months of looking around to go for a Mulberry bag, I feel like they’re timeless and really beautiful. I’ve narrowed down my choices to 2; the small Iris (probably in solid grey) or the medium top handle Lily (definitely in chestnut).
I like the style of the Lily more but I feel like the Iris could be used more frequently? Looks more like an ‘everyday’ bag IYSWIM?

Im not quite there with my savings yet (likely be a Christmas/New year treat, possibly longer depending on bills over winter etc) and I’d like to go and see them in real life before hand but interested to see if anyone has either and if they have any pros/cons advice on getting a Mulberry?

I like the Iris personally. I have one a similar size Mulberry and it's really useful. They also last forever. I can't think of a minus.

I have the Lily and my Dd has the Iris and I like both. What type of bags do you use now? You can also get colour transfer on the lighter colours so something to keep in mind.
This is hers in the solid grey with dark clay handle, I have to do spa treatments on it!

It’s beautiful isn’t it! Is that the larger size? I use a cross body bag at the moment - think camera style which is black and goes with everything but is looking a little dog eared at the moment.
My worry is the medium Lily might be too ‘dressy’ for day to day use so I’m thinking the normal size Lily could be better or the smaller Iris, as long as I can fit my purse some makeup and a sunglasses case in I’m happy!

I will keep in mind the colour transfer thank you!

@LottieTx it's lovely. It's the small Iris was £995 in April 2020 and now £1250! My Dd uses it daily as her summer work/everyday bag. She uses it in the evening too on a quiet night out!
I feel that the medium Lily is too large for a shoulder bag. But this small Iris and normal Lily would hold the same as a camera bag.
Can you go into store to see them?

That’s really helpful thank you! Yes I can get to see them so hopefully that will give me a better idea of what is best for me. I think you’re right about the medium Lilly - could be too big for a shoulder bag?

I bought an Iris online from Mulberry, when it arrived I was really disappointed in the quality of the leather, not like the 'olden days' at all.
