Autumn workwear - what are we doing?

Looking for ideas/inspiration.

Change in the weather has panicked me.

I need to look vaguely put together for work - smart /casual. Think dresses with tights/ankle boots. I need inspiration for what to wear on top - I’m a freezer.

I have sensory issues so struggle with wool and anything tight on the waist.

Basically I want to live in joggers and hoodies but I can’t!

what are you lovely ladies wearing for Autumn/winter? Links encouraged!

I'm planning on going back to my comfy winter uniform - black skinny jeans with various pretty tops from Hush mainly, collect one or two each year! e.g.

If I got cold like you I'd add a vest top underneath as an extra layer. With suede or leather ankle boots and smart coat.

Cord or dark denim dungarees or pinafore dress with a long- sleeved t shirt underneath, we have no dress code and my job involves a fair amount of activity. On rare days where I need to be smarter it’s blazer, smart t shirt and 3/4 trousers.

Wide leg trousers, converse, a vest and a shirt over. Or a cropped boxy jumper, or a fine knit jumper tucked in.

Love the Hush shirt.

All your outfits sound great! I wish I could wear skinnies, I can’t manage the tightness , i struggle with any trousers apart from joggers/harems.

Will look again at dungarees- love L and Y but too casual for work.

so many of the dresses this year are billowy, shapeless viscose which don’t do anything for me and are cold! I’ve seem nice options at Boden/Poetry but my budget is not that high.

Loving the ideas.

I have a plan that I'm going to wear my dresses with tights & boots and a knitted sleeveless top over, with a belt. I realise that won't work for you! It won't work for me unless I can find what I'm looking for and so far I can't! I ordered a black wool tank top from H&M but it was ridiculously big, I could have for two of me in it. I'm on a budget which doesn't help matters. If I can't put that "look" together I'll go back to thin thermal layers under my clothes as I tend to feel the cold and have a feeling the boss is going to be turning the heat down (or off) this winter!

TheSoundOfMucus · 05/09/2022 22:27

Ooh I may try a tank top as that will avoid itchy wrists!

Is there a post missing on the thread? Confused

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 06/09/2022 09:34

Yes I wondered the same @JaneJeffer I thought maybe it wasn't showing properly on my phone but am on the pc now and still can't see it.

Dresses here, mostly.

Wide legged trousers and a fitted-ish top.

Or cigarette trousers

I've got a couple of tank tops and I want to find a white shirt to wear under those. Also got a long length printed shirt which looks nice with cigarette trousers.

NotMyDust · 06/09/2022 19:00

are tank tops still a thing then? I've been eying them up for about a year! like the look in the third photo @ChilliPB , nice belt detail. however the top is a bit ...toppy...for autumn?

Haha maybe with the shirt on top! I’ve got some shirt jackets which work over a vest and trousers.

Any idea where the belt is from?
