Long lightweight waterproof jacket

I’m just about to return to work after a lovely long mat leave and an even longer time since I’ve been in the office. I’m looking for a lightweight waterproof jacket that will keep me dry while pushing the buggy but is also smart enough to look at least vaguely professional when I go into work.

I have a Janelle coat in black from Seasalt which I really love and am after the same sort of thing but lightweight. Needs to have a decent hood as a top priority but I’d ideally like something that bit longer - at least knee length or a bit below. I’m 5’8” and all the pics from places like Protected Species, Uniqlo etc seem to stop above the knee.

Does such a thing exist?

I've not found anything yet but I'm following your thread in the hope that someone else has!

I have an Ilse Jacobsen longline raincoat and I love it! It waterproof, the hood stays up and it looks smartish (comes in lots of colours) It’s quite pricy but I’ve had mine for 3 years and wear it every rainy day!

Mission Waterproof parka from sweaty Betty. Comes up long and I am usually a 12, bought the small and can fit a jumper underneath. It's been 100% waterproof for me and I don't over heat. Means I can also sit down without getting a wet behind!

I have a Polarino hooded parka from Curvissa. Very lightweight, not bulky, waterproof and warm. Takes me from Autumn to Spring. Can't see the one I have on their site now.

Ooh thanks everyone! @Daria32 @Annexlife those are exactly what I was looking for, but unfortunately a bit more than I was planning to spend (I was thinking up to £100-150). But maybe once I’m back on my full salary again sat on the tube with with rain soaked knees!

@Stressybetty that sounds like what I’m after - I’m all set for winter but not for the warm and wet we’re having especially as I’m not coordinated enough to manage a buggy, a brolly and 2 small children! Shame they don’t have the longer length in at the moment.

Just found they do Polarino on Freeman's as well if that helps.

Have a look at Lighthouse. They have some long ones- Outback I think.
Fantastic quality around £90.

I just spotted something like this in Tesco this very evening! Long, lightweight, claims to have taped seams, waterproof. There was a camel colour, black and navy I think. No idea if they're any good but I was vaguely tempted because they're a really good length! And would be smart enough for work I reckon.

Seasalt - I got one in the sale that was £150, now £75. They are nearly all waterproof with hoods and a range of colours. New winter styles in now I would think

NomDePrune · 07/09/2022 20:36

Sorry op just re-read your first post and you clearly know about Seasalt already Blush

Boppertini · 07/09/2022 20:56

I’ve just received this (ordered earlier this week) and I love it! It’s very long but just what I was looking for Link
It was a bit more expensive than I had planned but had been looking for a while for a waterproof jacket I wouldn’t need rain trousers with when going to the park with my toddler (he doesn’t take a day of regardless of the weather 😅)

Protected Species. I love my coat from there and it gets lots of compliments.
