DIY Hair Dye

Like many others, I'm looking for ways to reduce outgoings at the moment. Can anyone recommend good quality hair dye that I can use at home. I have brown hair and a sensitive scalp, so one containing as few nasties as possible would be great. TIA

I should have added, I'm also starting to fight the greys coming through more and more.

Do you usually have semi or permanent dye?

Usually I have semi, but maybe I should be going for permanent to cover the grey? But will that be worse for my hair?!

I would try L'Oréal Casting if you usually get semi permanent. Or there's Clairol Natural Instincts which claims to be more natural. But if your scalp is sensitive you might find any dye too harsh.
Go a bit lighter than you think you are unless you're aiming for a very dark look. Eg. If you're mid brown, try a light brown dye.
Just apply to roots.

If you've just got a few niggling greys I used to love L'Oréal casting creme gloss. Always found it good -till I got more greys!

Hey I use a basic box dye (polytint) but I buy Olaplex on Amazon and always treat my hair with that after dying and weekly in between and it keeps it in good condition. I think nice conditioner also helps to keep your colour looking nice x

I use henna. The greys go a bit gold/copper. You don't need to leave it on long.
It's messy, but very cheap.
