White Stuff

Has anyone else found themselves completely bemused by recent White Stuff offerings? I've always found them a bit twee but I used to like some of their plainer tops and (slightly) quirky blouses, but I'm browsing their new collection and there are some absolute monstrosities in there. I got the impression they were going a bit more 'fashion' after their rebrand next year, but I just don't get the new stuff at all and can't imagine what market they're aiming at anymore?!

I haven't looked at the new collection yet but I've gone off them over time because of the fabrics, so much jersey and synthetics these days.

I consider WS in the same category as Seasalt - not really for me. I didn't know they did a rebrand. I remember the days of beautiful tunics etc from them maybe 10 or more years ago. In fact I lump Fat Face with them too although FF is maybe a bit better for me. I got some nice stripey long sleeve Ts in WS summer sale though.

They’ve lost the plot.

Their patterns are just bizarre now, rather than quirky.

Their fit is very strange now too, particularly for a larger size. Everything is just flat - no darts or shaping.

I used to buy a couple of items each season for a bit of colour or pattern, but haven’t seen anything I liked there in about a year.

I agree it’s hard to work out who the WS customer is these days,

I quite like them, especially since they have a load of dresses with pockets

Used to buy a lot of clothes from them, I loved their skirts with interesting embroidery and motifs , often got compliments but recently haven't seen anything that's particularly lept out at me. I'm short and there things are getting longer which doesn't fit me
and there is also far too much clingy Jersey, which also doesn't suit me. Prefer a cotton shirt. The fit and material just doesn't flatter me anymore and not sure about cut and patterns either.

I was in WS last week and totally agree the latest collection is awful. Everything is shapeless and it all just looks really frumpy. I don't know who they are trying to appeal to either! Definitely not me but it's a shame as I used to get some good knitwear from there.

Given their prices and lack of direction, I wonder if they might struggle to survive in these challenging times for retail?
