Soft stretchy "Lockdown" trousers

Icedlatteplease · 04/09/2022 19:08

Has anyone seen these anywhere? A soft elastic top pull on stretchy jersey cotton kind of thing? They were everywhere during lockdown

My ADHD DD's sensory issues are through the roof currently. Everything is too itchy and scratchy"issues wise as she is stressed due to stuff at home and starting college. She has lived in a few lockdown primark purchases that she finds tolerable but that are now wearing thin. She can just about tolerate exercise leggings but sometimes she wants something smarter.

Alternatively a long flowing winter skirt that doesn't really touch her legs might work.

Anyone any suggestions?

Peacocks yoga pants, cheap and comfortable

NuffSaidSam · 04/09/2022 19:24

Peacocks have lots like that, or at least did over the summer. I'm not sure they'll win any style or beauty awards but they're very stretchy and comfy.

M&S is also usually good for this sort of thing. And often the supermarket brands.

Bam bamboo joggers, I got 2 pairs in the recent sale, brilliant.

Rooma · 04/09/2022 19:29

Search jersey trousers on M&S. there's loads in various cuts- straight leg, wide leg etc. super comfy

Icedlatteplease · 04/09/2022 19:55

Thank you!! searching through the links keep them coming!!

www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1106356863/nordbury-ladies-italian-stretch-plain?ref=yr_purchases. I have several pairs of these and am never wearing jeans again. But might not be soft enough for sensory issues.

ChilliPB · 04/09/2022 20:19

M&S jersey trousers! They have several - I just got some wide leg ones for £18. They’re comfy and smart but not too smart.

DessicatedWithering · 04/09/2022 20:28

DD has ASD and has started using Vinted because everything second hand is "broken in" and soft. There are loads of trousers like that on there.

shinynewapple22 · 04/09/2022 21:46

Second these - have had several pairs over the years . I think the fabric feels slightly different in some of the pairs I have though .

AtLeastPretendToCare · 04/09/2022 21:54

These are also stretchy and soft but quite smart

Duns sweden baggy pants are so comfy the kids and I live in them

PeloDramatic · 04/09/2022 22:14

@shinynewapple22 yes! I have the black which I love and are v soft, and a leopard print which I don't like as much

Crucible · 04/09/2022 22:20

Ooh Betty clothing. Her Betty's bottoms are exactly what you need.

silentpool · 04/09/2022 22:25

Boody do loose bamboo joggers and wide leg pants, which are very soft. I'd also recommend the M&S jersey ones.

crochetmeahat · 04/09/2022 23:18

Or try looking for tencel rather than cotton

Icedlatteplease · 05/09/2022 19:53

Thanking you all for your help with this. I realised we probably needed to go somewhere with bigger and better shops and try things on in person!!!

We found and tried on a lot of your suggestions!!! I have a nice pair of the next Joggers 😁😁😁 and DD very unexpectedly actually found a fantastic skirt that does the job in addition to a couple of trousers.

Wouldn't have even thought to have shopped in person without this thread!!
