Any recommendations for fab stylish chunky black loafers that wont leave my poor feet crippled? I've bony feet and high archers so I step out of shoes easily but love the look of chunky loafers with socks and jeans. I know I’ll probably need to try on and on and on but if anyone can at least recommend me a few to try I’d be very grateful.

Russell and Bromley. Go in and look at what the shop assistants are wearing/ask them which ones they have. It is a strategy that has never failed for comfort.

OxanaVorontsova · 03/09/2022 08:36

Asos or Zara are good for loafers.

carefullycourageous · 03/09/2022 08:37

I got some nubuck ones from ECCO, but they may not be chunky enough for you.

CoconutAmericano · 03/09/2022 09:35

Thank you for the replies! We are getting a Russel and Bromley in Dublin this autumn so I’ll go in and have a mooch! The only problem with Asos is i cant try on. Ill have a look in Zara too

Solovair have good loafers.

I also get mine at M&S, of all places.

FionaMacCool · 03/09/2022 09:43

R&B coming to Dublin!!!!???!!!
I should not have clicked on this thread.

Coconut for high arches, try MarcoMoreo. Arnotts usually have a good selection- I saw nice-ish black loafers there about 2 weeks ago. Or Shoesuite online.

CoconutAmericano · 03/09/2022 14:02

Ok thank you Fiona!

I have these and find them incredibly comfortable and pleasingly chunky. Only one size left though.

I have 3 pairs of these. Am an FM in a massive mall and do around 16km a day. Swear by them. I also have spares for when these wear out

adamanti · 03/09/2022 14:38

They have soft backs so you can fold them down when wearing in but I actually haven't needed to

CoconutAmericano · 03/09/2022 14:42

Thank you @adamanti theyre nice but they dont do a 41 weirdly! But thank you

New Look have ones for 40 quid but they're tasselled.

Here.

JimmyShoo · 03/09/2022 14:53

I was going to suggest R&B too. They’re £££ but comfortable.

CoconutAmericano · 03/09/2022 14:57

Thank you @RichardsGear but they're not quite right, too close to what i wore in school i think, but thank you. I think r and b may be my best bet. I defo need to try on i think.

I second Russell & Bromley. Extremely expensive but very well made, so if you take care of them they will last years. Require a bit of breaking in of course but so comfortable once they are. Mine were gifted to me 12 years ago and are still going strong. Buy cheap, buy twice is what I’ve always found with shoes unfortunately.

FionaMacCool · 03/09/2022 19:37

R&B would be the biz.

ShoeSuite have Hogl- not usually a fan of that brand but these look ok...worth a try-on?

Loving the Mint Velvet loafers

Tralalalalalalalalalala · 04/09/2022 00:42

Wow, those Prada ones are ugly aren't they.

CoconutAmericano · 04/09/2022 08:20

Not in my opinion @Tralalalalalalalalalala no.

The Dr marten’s are fab but id say they’d kill my feet stone dead. The pair of boots i own do! Thank you all for the suggestions.
