I'm after something old fashioned looking, a bit like the one in this link in terms of style, but better quality. It's so hard to find something pretty in a nice fabric that has a functional primary reason for being! m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61A2j1so72L.AC_UX569.jpg

M&S. though probably not actual silk.

dudsville · 02/09/2022 14:21

Thanks, I did look at them, but they're not pretty!

Maybe try something on etsy?

dudsville · 02/09/2022 14:31

I'm on the etsy website it's all vintage, which woudl be fine but I'm sure sizing would be hard, I'll change my search to "new".

Try searching for 'silk chemise' on Outnet. You'll find lots of pretty silk slips. They're not cheap but they're lovely! www.theoutnet.com/en-fr/shop/search/silk%20chemise

High street shops like M&S and John Lewis often have silk chemises at Christmas as they make a lovely present. I've got a gorgeous old M&S one that I got for about £15 in a sale years ago.

Aha, I've been wondering if I'm using the right erm, I'll try that thanks!

Real silk will be PRICEY, so it depends how much you want to spend.

e.g. www.kissmedeadly.co.uk/collections/emma-harris

If that isn't the kind of price you are after, search for satin rather than silk.

Try Petra for silk undies

loopylindi · 02/09/2022 15:55

Sorry. it's Patra

DesireAs · 02/09/2022 15:57

Ted Baker do really pretty chemises

Bluebonnet3 · 02/09/2022 15:58

I bought a silk chemise from Figleaves that is lovely. I use it as a nightdress, but it could be used as a slip.

Patra silk usually do them

I’ve had my eye on this seller on eBay for a while. They seem to do silk very cheaply. They do have 100% positive reviews so it might be worth a punt:

Thanks for the suggestions, I've checked them out but still not finding what I'm looking for. As to price, I'm willing to pay for it as it will be a one off longed for item rather than a whim I might later regret. I would also find satin acceptable so I'll try that search term.

In my mind the slip is knee length with embroidery or lace at the bodice and the hem.

A bit like "cat on a hot tin roof".

Anyone know any shops that sell silk slips?

I’ve got several from Patra including a waist slip with a matching camisole top ( lace trimmed). Together they look like the photo you have posted . Bought about a year ago though .
