Need some sandals for holidays in Spain. I want something stylish that goes with everything but as comfy as a walking sandal. I have birkenstock which are OK but not dressy enough with going out dresses. I can't wear fit flops as no good for my feet. In my head I'd like some tan saltwaters but I have a problem with my feet that I need a decent amount of cushioning. Has anyone any suggestions?

I have the exact pair for you! These gems from Next. The tan and the gold are lovely. They're cushioned, super soft, stylish (I think) and very very comfortable.

I have purchased several pairs!

Russell & Bromley fisherman's sandals are the comfiest I have ever owned.

Fairfax and Favor Brancaster sandals. They come in a range of colours and are super comfy.

Have a look at Naot sandals. Very comfortable and reasonably stylish.

I bought some saltwaters this year and they are incredible. I got the original ones and they are very very thin soles so fine for a few hours general day to day but a day at work or a day sightseeing I'd have no chance. I wore them at night mainly.

Those next ones are so lovely and basically a copy of the saltwater retro sandals. Tempted!

cherrypiepie · 02/09/2022 10:11

Just read you post again and don't think they would be a good walking sandal.

For walking I have Tevas - I love them too!

I've got these and can wear them all day, they are so comfy...

I've also got some slip-on ones similar to the "Fruit Punch" style which are also brilliant. I wear them around the house instead of slippers on hot days.

cherrypiepie · 02/09/2022 18:55

@Imtoooldforallthis please do I am sorely tempted! but I need more sandals like I need a hole in the head

mscynical · 02/09/2022 21:13

What about these - Birkenstock style but more dressy as they are wedged. I have some and they are very comfortable.

Salt water swimmer sandals. I have rose gold ones.
Game changer

Elnetthairnet · 02/09/2022 21:24

Saltwater swimmers are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned! You can wear them all day, walking all over in hot weather and they don’t rub, even straight out of the box. I have ‘difficult’ feet with bunions and I’ve struggled to find sandals that fit nicely as well as look good - these are perfect. I have tan ones and they go with everything.

cherrypiepie · 02/09/2022 23:35

@Elnetthairnet I have swimmers in my must buy list for next summer. The classics are so comfy like just wearing air but the sole is a thin (compared to havianas which I wear all day at home in summer)

When I first put mine on, it didn't feel like I was wearing any shoes. I wore them all day on holiday in Greece.

I have originals in black and even though I can wear them all day, my feet do ache a bit by the end.
They're expensive as well but I managed to get mine off eBay only worn once or twice, for just £50

Imtoooldforallthis · 03/09/2022 10:13

Well my sandals arrived this morning, I'm currently wearing around the house with labels on trying to decide whether to keep them or not. Although they have a cushioned sole they are very flat and I'm not sure if they have enough cushioning under the heel for me. I'd also say they show quite a lot of your toes so you do need a good pedicure. I'm debating whether or not to order the saltwater swimmers, can anyone tell me what the sizings like, I ordered some ordinary saltwaters a few years ago and I think they were too big.

OP posts:
cherrypiepie · 04/09/2022 12:34

Saltwater sizing is non standard so it is not the same as US or UK measurements.

I'm a UK 6 and my saltwaters are a 7 and fit very well but I do have wide feet and most normal sandal would not fit me which is why you might have found them big.

What shoe size do you take usually? I'm a lower end 6 if you see what I mean - 7 would be massive and a five and half might fit me.

Good feedback on the next ones.

These are the comfiest sandals I have ever had. The leather is like butter and they're really cushioned. Expensive but currently a bit less in the sale.

Look at Avarca Pons UK who sell Spanish sandals, Link

AlabamaWorley22 · 04/09/2022 23:45

Saltwater boardwalk - i much prefer this style to the swimmer but they still have the cushioned sole. They are like slippers. I was overseas most of the last two months and wore these almost every day, walking miles in them. They still look impeccable and I’m now actually wearing them round the house as slippers now that I’m home!

size up. I promise these sandals tick every box.
