I’ve never really embraced the trainers with dresses look - although I do have some gold and white trainers which look ok with a few things
I do have quite a few dresses with pink or purple in them as well as T-shirt style dresses which would go ok colour wise
if it makes any difference I’m 58!

personally I think they’re naff, they have a sort of orthopaedic shoe meets crazy cat lady from Brighton type vibe

MammaWeasel · 29/08/2022 18:42

They're a bit orthopaedic......it would be a no from me, sorry

I'm from Brighton and love cats, but there's no chance I'd wear those! Grin

Sorry OP, it's a naff from me.

MuddlerInLaw · 29/08/2022 18:47

They’re so … tame. Almost twee.

I don’t think anyone should be rewarded with money for producing them.

(And if you’re wearing pink clothes you need your accessories to be saying something different.)

I'm afraid I'm not a fan, OP. I'm not averse to a colourful trainer, but these ones do look a little dated.

I think colourful trainers can be more difficult to pull off than paler colours, although I do like them done well. I'd be inclined to go for some in more of a suede fabric with a chunkier sole to avoid them looking dated, or ones with a pink sole as well as a pink upper. There's something about the contrast of white and pink that I don't like in the ones you've posted.

I quite like Puma's colourful trainers, but accept the chunky soles on many of those won't appeal to lots of people. I know people can be a bit sneery about Converse on here, but they have similar colours and styles to the ones you've posted but just with some added touches that make them look a bit more modern, so they might be worth a look?

That made me laugh as you've nailed it.

I really don't subscribe to 'I'm 58 so anything younger than Dr Scholl will make me look like mutton dressed as lamb''. You should get the coolest shoes as currently coveted by teens and people in their twenties. People of all age groups will think you're amazing.

Thank you everyone I will stick to my gold and white Stan smiths then 😊😂

They're awfully square
Not in the shape.

As in boffin

Nomorefuckstogive · 29/08/2022 22:52

Wise, OP. Stan Smiths are way nicer.
