Thick soled slippers

My kitchen is unheated, with a ceramic tiled floor. My feet get cold when I'm cooking. I need thick soled slippers, but those I've tried don't last very long, & the soles get trodden down.

I tried on Crocs, but those pimples are horrible.

They don't need to be furry or woolly, I just want a thick layer of something between floor & feet.
Washable or wipeable , closed toe but preferably sliders.

Do they exist ? Thanks for any suggestions.

I bought some Mahabis mainly for the sole so I can go in and out of the house in them (freezer is in the garage) and they will be durable, really impressed so far and they are v warm

I have some fitflop clog like slippers. They have v thick spongy soles and are v comfy. Were pretty pricey but I have problem feet and they are v comfy.

Strive

Derbybound2022 · 27/08/2022 17:58

Strive slippers, they are also good for people with foot problems as have an arch

I have some Birkenstock ones that make me feel like a character in a fairytale. They were quite expensive though. Or just normal Birkenstocks, which are surprisingly warm considering they are sandals.

Toms are good

theshadeofgreen · 27/08/2022 18:02

I have Ugg slippers and the sole is an outdoor sole bottom but much thicker, maybe 2in?

I've got these. They may not have your size anymore, as I bought them in 2019 and they're still going strong. Cold ceramic floor in our kitchen too, and these are absolutely brilliant. I haven't had chilblains since I bought them.

If your feet are 5/6 or above then the answer is easy. Men's slippers!

BrianWankum · 27/08/2022 23:36

I have Moshulu bootie slippers. Light enough to be comfy all the time and have chunky soles so no cold feet.

Georgyporky · 30/08/2022 17:45

Thanks everyone, i'm checking them all.

I've had these for about four years (and have just bought another pair as they're on sale and mine were looking a bit tired). Soooo comfortable!

Haflingers. I love the ones with the felt soles.

TheodoraPlumptre · 30/08/2022 21:37

Short Ugg boots have been good slippers for me (cold house, tiled floors). They're expensive (bought mine on Ebay) but they have lasted several years thus far. I can also wear them to take the bins out etc.

TooMinty · 30/08/2022 21:42

I buy Ugg style boots instead of slippers. Primark and Next usually do them, this year I have treated myself to FatFace ones in the sale.

TooMinty · 30/08/2022 21:44

And in summer I wear rubber sliders with a really thick sole, they are like walking on clouds 😊. From Amazon I think.

Ohsugarhoneyicetea · 30/08/2022 21:46

Giesswein are great, but I also really rate these from John Lewis

Sketchers slippers, good thick sole!

QueSyrahSyrah · 30/08/2022 22:23

Search Rockdove on Amazon. DH has the mens versions and they're very sturdy on the sole and lovely warm and padded inside. Not too expensive either.

These type ones from next are great. I prefer the closed toe option bit they have either. Also good for nipping to the bin.

Fitflop slippers are great. Nice thick cushioned sole.

Paq · 31/08/2022 07:27

Has to be Nordika. Expensive but last years.

iloveyankeecandle · 31/08/2022 07:30

Ugg. So so warm too
