Going out out & nothing fits!

DH is taking me out to a swanky cabaret dinner tonight with a 'dress to the nines' dress code. It's the first time we've been out out since pre-pandemic times, I've just tried on my nice dresses and can't get them done up or over my hips.

I have limited local shopping options but can see on the Next website that the local shop has a dress in stock that would do. I don't love it.

The other option is to try dressing up one of my work dresses (pics attached). I'd prefer to do that if pos.

What do you think?

I love those dresses and think they would both be stunning with heels, accessories, great hair and makeup. I would wear them both to a fancy restaurant.

Second one in particular

The black one. Black heels or smart flats, nice jewellery, hair up and earrings.

I have high heeled strappy wedges or patent courts. Nothing sky scraper. Chunky jewellery and fancy hair are doable.

Yes, the black one with heels. Perfect. Red lipstick. Not chunky jewellery though - maybe a silver cuff or just some cool earrings.
