Does a non-clammy waterproof exist?

Chucking with rain today, so I have put on my so-stylish waterproof over my work dress. The full jacket has a fleece inside, so this is just the outer shell and by the time I got in to the office my arms were unpleasantly clammy. I had forgotten how grim that feels when you don't have long sleeves!

Does a non-clammy waterproof that doesn't cost an absolute fortune exist? The absolute holy grail would be one that has some semblance of style as well, but I think that's definitely a myth!

I don't believe so personally. The worst I tried is one of those Australian coats Drivers/Drovers? I tried it in a deluge and , yes it was waterproof but when I took it off, my arms were swimming in sweat!! I have a couple of jackets which are fine for a few hours but they are a bit 'boil in the bag'!

I thought that might be the case! It was too warm for a merino cardigan underneath, but something like that is clearly the only way to avoid it.

I put talc on my arms to see if it stopped it. It does work, my arms weren't totally dry but far more comfortable. Nylon inners are better than fleece as it dries quickly once the coat is off.

DH has got a RAINS one, which appears to be non clammy (no sweat marks on a white work shirt worn under it).

I have a www.protected-species.com/ one and it is very breathable and never clammy.

I also have a RAINS waterproof coat and it is clammy because of the waterproof material they use. I still use it - great for heavy rain, but always feels me feel very humid.

Seatsalt has excellent non sweaty raincoats. I’m ravingly menopausal and get hot in an igloo and I love mine.
