Bridal hair - help!

DP and I are eloping next week, just the two of us (2nd marriages, everyone knows and is happy for us).

I ordered a dried floral bouquet, boutonniere and crown from a fab independent business. Really happy with the bouquet and boutonniere, however, having tried on the crown I've come to realise that it is far too dramatic for a 40 year old eloping bride. Don't get me wrong, I love a bit of drama but this would be going too far! Even 10 year old DD burst out laughing when I tried it on and she's normally my biggest cheerleader 😀

I think I might be able to reuse the flowers from the crown in my hair but now I'm stumped for how to style it. I'm going for a boho vibe, wearing a bridal, lace, boxy, cropped top and high waisted chiffon maxi skirt.

I have mid length blonde hair that looks best styled wavy. I'll be doing my own hair and makeup on the day.

Any ideas/sources of inspiration?

TIA

Is it long enough to do the double braid style in this article and fix with some of your crown flowers.

I think half up with flowers at the back would look less dramatic. Maybe a more beach wave version of this sort of thing.

Sorry the stupid site isn’t letting me upload the pics!

Florist here! ( Grin)

You can wire individual buds and thread them through your hair if you want a very boho style.

Easier if you have a glue gun is just whack a few of them on a clear comb/ barrette depending on how you're having your hair and tuck in at the crown/side of a chignon/top of a pony etc

Thank you for all your suggestions and pics :) I think I might be able to reuse the flowers from the crown. I do have a glue gun so shall have a play around this weekend - I'm not as talented as @LadyOfTheCanyon though but will have a go!

I really like the hairstyles that have been shared so will find a tutorial on YouTube for something similar :)

Exciting! YEs, little plaits or even twists secured with hairpins and then tuck your flowers in. Could crown be repurposed as a table centrepiece?!

LetsGoDoDoDo · 27/08/2022 23:20

@trombonetoblerone we're eloping so no need for centre pieces! Ww can hang it as a wreath though 😀

Liking the suggestion of plaits/twists

If the crown is on a wire base you may be able to cut a section out using pliers, form loops at either end and put hairpins/grips/ribbon through the loops to attach it to your hair.
