Autumn / winter boots

So what is deemed fashionable re boots for this winter?
Last year it was chunky soles which actually worked well with my dresses.

Still chunky. I'm going for lace up ankle boots, ideally want some with a zip up the side so I don't have to do the laces. My dream is patent leather. Currently seen nice ones in khaki suede from m&s that aren't expensive

I'm still wearing my chunky boots. I love them.

I saw some really nice Dr Martens Chelsea boots in Schuch with that shiny coating on. Can't find them online!

I’ve seen a lot of chunky boots around. I’ve got chunky Chelsea boots from last year but this year I’ve seen biker style boots with all the buckles and so on too.

Are you buying new boots because last year’s chunky ones may not be so fashionable?
stick with them if they work with your dresses!

How do you style chunky boots for work? I'm so sick of chelsea boots, I love chunky, but my office requires smart casual. Preferably no jeans.

Sorry disappeared with travelling - thanks all. @garlicandsapphires I’m just in my 40s and the fear has set in. I know I’m older and accept it just don’t want to look dated.
@xogossipgirlxo i’m a housewife so don’t worry about offices but I would have thought they would be ok for smart / casual. Mine are tan leather Chelsea boot with thick sole - husband and various male relatives found them hilarious (they work in construction so lots of site jokes) but they are really comfortable.
