It's like rummaging through the best charity shop ever .

Somebody stop me .....

I paid for mine and my wife's flights to Spain selling on Vinted, have made over £450 on clothes I was going to put in charity bins. Haven't sold anything in a while as all the "good" clothes have gone but it was brilliant whilst it lasted!

GiselleRose · 17/08/2022 00:34

Buy most of my clothes there.

CurrentHun · 17/08/2022 08:55

I’ve had a few experiences of asking for more info about an item and sellers just never replying at all which is annoying. eBay sellers seem more (literally I assume) professional.

Tonty · 17/08/2022 09:13

id like to sell some things on Vinted but not sure how you estimate the postage costs?

AdriannaP · 17/08/2022 11:00

Love love love Vinted too. Sold lots of kids clothes and bought them their whole summer wardrobe from Jojo and Mini Boden on Vinted.

found myself a great Boden dress, new Weleda cream and other bits and bobs. Wouldn’t buy high end designer items, they are often offered by sellers with no ratings and weird user names. I think some of those are probably fake…

Yourownpersonaljesus · 17/08/2022 12:42

I was also thinking of selling on Vinted. Can you just offer the delivery options that suit you? I don't have a printer at home. What options are available to me?

BettyCake · 17/08/2022 12:56

Is Vinted better than depop? I use depop and love that.

Someone cancelled my order because they said their printer had broken and I could reorder again using yodel as that allows you to print in store (I didn’t reorder as they told me after 4 days and I don’t sell on vinted personally but just to let you know there’s an option to print in store it seems)

babysgotthespends · 17/08/2022 19:15

I have recently discovered Vinted and I love it too! The kids clothes are also great but I bought lots of summer dresses that served me well on holiday. So much better than eBay. I may or may not have some packages waiting for me at the local shop! Sorrynotsorry

OnceRuralNowUrbanbliss · 17/08/2022 19:28

Off to see what all the fuss is about immediately

MarisPiper92 · 17/08/2022 19:51

@Flamingmentalcats I really hope I have just bought your cowboy boots. Size 5.5 by any chance...?

Flamingmentalcats · 17/08/2022 20:03

Mine were a size 6 Maris, red or dead ones

Yourownpersonaljesus · 17/08/2022 22:09

Thank you @FlyingSaucerss.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 17/08/2022 22:26

I love it too but I've been put off with their customer service a little, I ordered something for my daughter, parcel arrived quickly however it was clothing completely unrelated to what I had ordered, i contacted the seller who said yodel must have taken the label off theirs and attached it to someone else's so they didn't want to refund, I can see why as its not their fault really but its not mine either and I couldn't afford to buy twice, so I opened up a ticket with customer service, it's been almost a month and they've only just started to issue the refund. I'll still use the app but I'll be more cautious with what I buy, only super cheap stuff from now on.

Candelabrassiere · 18/08/2022 08:27

Do you need to join up/ create an account with Vinted if you only want to buy, not sell?

Yes, you do have to have an account to buy.

whoruntheworldgirls · 18/08/2022 19:13

I've been hooked for weeks 😄 bought so much for me and my daughter

Pleiades2020 · 18/08/2022 19:40

O my days I've just counted up my past orders. There were 48 of them since I joined in January. I'm feeling a little bit ashamed of myself now.

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 18/08/2022 19:51

Why would you order an item knowing you are going away when it's likely to be delivered? Surely it's asking for problems

There are a handful of options and if any don't suit you as a seller you can switch them off except UPS which annoyingly you can't - not really a biggie as I state on my bio and prominently on every listing that I won't use so don't select.

I don't have a printer so only have Yodel turned on. This has probably affected my sales a bit as it means I can't offer free/cheap shipping which is obviously a huge plus for buyers. I have however sold slowly but steadily since Feb/March and made over £200 having spent little on parcelling bits and have a couple of drop off point I can either easily walk to or drive by regularly while running other errands.

Also weirdly, none of my sales have come from an item that has been "favourited ".

lugeforlife · 18/08/2022 21:04

I am dipping my toe in the water as a buyer (although was too slow on a jacket I wanted). I was planning on putting some items on as a seller but will have no reviews. Surely all new sellers will be review short?

Yourownpersonaljesus · 18/08/2022 21:40

Thanks, that's really helpful @tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz. Looks like I have somewhere really close to me to drop off if I use Yodel. I was thinking I could also offer Royal Mail. Think I'll put some bits on tomorrow. It's really annoying as I lost weight recently and gave a load of stuff to my local charity shop. I know that's not a bad thing but I'm really skint so could do with making a bit of money.

If you have lots of bits that are "samey" so in size for example, bundles are incredibly popular with buyers(This is different to the option buyers have of buying several individual items as bundling them).

Means your buyer saves on postage too and as a seller I can't be arsed to spend time wrapping an item and posting just for a £1 say, but I'd happily put three similar items together for a couple of pounds.
