What jeans shape is in now?

I need a new pair of jeans but I'm at loss at what to get. No idea of what's in fashion. I'm short, slim and middle-aged. I used to love bootcut jeans when they were in last time, but have mainly worn skinny/straight jeans of late. Any advice?

All the jeans I've bought recently have been 80s style mum jeans, high waisted and not tight. Very comfy.

Yes, the last couple of pairs of jeans I have purchased have been the ‘mom’ type ones. I’m an apple shape & I find them comfy & think they suit! I use to love bootcut jeans & have tried a few on recently but can’t find any that fit properly. I also still like my skinnies, I use to get the wonderfit from George @ Asda a few years ago but even they have changed & not the same anymore.

@ditavonteesed @guessagain any recommendations on brands that are good for short legs? I've found that many mom jeans look enormous on me!

I got mine at new look (short) and at matalan (29”) look nice turned up or left down.

Pleased that high waist will go into the winter. Shirts less likely to pull out and leave a 3" gap.

I pretty much lived in skinny jeans for about ten years. At some point during the pandemic I bought mom jeans and the skinny jeans now live in the back on the wardrobe! They just feel so uncomfortable now. I'm petite and do find regular mom jeans a bit unflattering on me, so I bought Topshop (on ASOS now) slim fit mom jeans and these are great.

Slim fit mom jeans sound great, thank you! I do also like the higher waist.
