Am I the only woman in the world who doesn't pluck her eyebrows?

Occasionally I have a panic attack and worry everyone's laughing at my decidedly bushy, unkept brows. It's not that plucking them hurts, though of course it does, but I'm not very good at doing it and it always looks rubbish. Oh and I don't colour my hair either. I asked my hairdresser if everyone else did and she said, yes, they do.....

Yes, I would say, you probably are.

brimfull · 20/01/2008 21:25

nope

the woman sitting next to me at my bookgroup could hardly see out of hers !

do it
it makes a huge difference

Shitemum · 20/01/2008 21:26

i used to pluck mine, now i dont even have time to look in the mirror!
I dye my hair, it looks shite tho.

Arent cats supposed to have furry eyebrows?

sparklylucy · 20/01/2008 21:26

I dont either. When do you get the time anyway?????

Lubyloo · 20/01/2008 21:26

I get my eyebrows waxed (useless at plucking too) but you're not the only one who doesn't colour their hair. I stopped colouring it when I was expecting DD (now 2) and haven't done it since. About 40% grey and proud!

Cappuccino · 20/01/2008 21:27

I only started doing mine about 5 years ago

great decision

I went to get them done at a salon and then keep up to them

you can't do it the first time on your own

Nappyzone · 20/01/2008 21:28

no your not - i have never ever plucked my eyebrows and im assured by dh knowone calls me ted heath or whoever that politician was with bushy brows on spitting image - anyway if i did i would have to keep on doing them so i have left them and im pretty sure my friends would say to me if they were a problem. Also i dabled highligthing or dying my hair but couldnt be assed with upkeep and then thought after having children that i a. wont have time to sit for x hours getting it done b. wont be able to afford to and c. will go grey so should enjoy natural colour while i can.

brimfull · 20/01/2008 21:29

tis crap that there is no time

it takes a few minutes

you must have a few minutes

you're on here aren't you?

mosschops30 · 20/01/2008 21:30

no i have mine waxed

Milliways · 20/01/2008 21:30

I keep meaning to do it more regularly, but every few months I use the Superdrug shaped eyebrow wax strips. 2 quick pulls (top & bottom) each eye & your done!

It's soo easy, don't know why I leave it soo long between waxes?

Nymphadora · 20/01/2008 21:30

I don't do anything with mine.

notnowbernard · 20/01/2008 21:30

hmm... was pondering this only today

should I spend money I don't have on getting my eyebrows done?

they are not bushy or overgrown or anything... I just wonder whether a little shaping would be a nice touch or not

bero · 20/01/2008 21:30

I don't do mine.

LadyOfWaffle · 20/01/2008 21:31

Eyebrow waxing is the only thing I do do! My hair hasn't been cut in a year (!?!!) but I do keep up with getting my eyebrows done, just one of those things - I feel really minging if I don't, but I know people who don't and you don't really notice, it's more you notice people looked more groomed when they do.

mosschops30 · 20/01/2008 21:31

get em done is only a fiver

Hulababy · 20/01/2008 21:31

I didn't start having mine done until about 5 years ago. Now I get them done about once every 6-8 weeks - normally waxed at the local salon, or when I am in a city with a Selfridges I get them threaded. I never do my own other than plucking the odd regrowith out when I remember. I should get them done a bit more often but forget to make the appointment.

It does make a huge difference when I have them done.

furrycat · 20/01/2008 21:31

The Superdrug ones sound fab...are they idiot proof? I mean, how do you make sure both brows end up the same size and shape?

ggirl -
It's true if i have time to be on MN i have time to pluck my eyebrows but as far as im aware eyebrow plucking isnt addictive and MN is anyway if i waxed mine the rest of me would look even scruffier.

jo25 · 20/01/2008 21:33

Your not alone,I don't bother either! Life is just too short. Although i do get attacks of paranoia very occassionally, but then i just have a little chat to myself and its all ok in the end.

FrayedKnot · 20/01/2008 21:33

No, I have them waxed

But I have an attractive dark brown bushy monobrow otherwise, so I have to do something.

I have never coloured my hair with anything other than henna, and that was this week, as an experiment, for the first time in about 20 years.

donbean · 20/01/2008 21:33

i went for the first time about a year ago.

the very young, very pretty girl plucked away and then when she took the towel from around my neck and shook it...it resembled a bloody good haircut volume of hair!
twas embarrassing.
i havent been since, and it hurts too much to do myself.
im the one who only washes her hair every 3 days or so, i just canny be arsed to be honest.

DumbledoresGirl · 20/01/2008 21:33

No, I don't, although I did once ask for advice on how to do it here on MN (the advice was to go to a beauty salon, which was not what I wanted to hear, so I still have never done it).

I do colour my hair though, but only to cover greys.

lazarou · 20/01/2008 21:35

I wax mine myself

expatinscotland · 20/01/2008 21:36

i wax.

i've noticed some very fair people out there who have sparse eyebrowns and don't need to pluck.

dd1 is like that.
