I'm brutal without makeup

Literally just this! I see all you gorgeous ladies with their sun kiss skin and big beautiful eyelashes. I would love to go without makeup but I look unrecognisable and really, really terrible without it. Wee tiny eyes, blotchy red face and lips that have no colour. All my friend look the same without makeup ( as in the still look beautiful ) is there a wonder cream I'm missing out on ?

What you're probably missing is not a cream, but an outsider's perspective. You're very used to your face made up and not so used to your face not covered in cosmetics. You're analysing your appearance at much greater length and from a lot closer (right in front of a mirror) than you are the appearance of your friends.

Your eyes and lips are probably normal human eyes and lips, just not made artificially prominent/given an unnatural shade through lipstick, mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, whatever. For skin blotches - maybe it's something more medical or maybe your skin would just look less blotchy and calm down if it spent an extended period of time not covered in foundation/concealer/rouge/whatever.

Ah thanks for your reply. I've always had a red complexion- hated it as a child and haven't learned to love it as yet. I think there are just so many beautiful people about these days that makes the ugly ones like me stick out lol.

dr jarts do a colour correction cream for red skin. It's green before it goes on the skin but don't be out off! It's actually really good! Good to have something that mutes the red but doesn't feel like make up!

Also use the too faced lip plump gloss. It burns a bit but brings the colour in your lips right up! I use it just because mine are so pale!

JMAngel1 · 14/08/2022 17:53

If it's any consolation, I feel the same.
But your friends could wear self tan and have tinted lashes? Most of us need a little something.
I'm having a house day today so haven't put anything on - my skin isn't horrific but could def benefit from powder and my eyes are crying out for mascara. My lips are also very unpigmented and need at minimum a tinted balm But I'm relishing a "down day" so to hell with it! Just avoiding mirrors 😀

For your lips I recommend elf pumping lipgloss. I also have too faced but that's really painful

Azelaic acid is meant to be very good for redness.

Personally I think it takes a bit of work to get that "naturally pretty" look. I tint and wax my my eyebrows weekly, get baby lash extensions, fake tan regularly, make sure nails/toes have a lick of polish, spend £££ and time on a regular skincare routine etc. I'd say I'm conventionally attractive without makeup on but it's not for lack of effort!

Indeed!

Hi, i know what it’s like to have a rosy complexion. I’m 47 now and realise I have almost colourless lips, threadveins on my cheeks and thinner eyebrows than i’d like, (and a lot more “faults”) my tip is look at your good points and play them up. Eg wear eyeshadow best to flatter your eye colour. Concealer, blush, mascara and lipliner are my mainstays. We are ALL lovely in our own way.

Jellywobblescobbles · 14/08/2022 18:34

Meant to add, I have tried a few lip tints and Benefit Posie tint is the best! Stays on. No more “dead” lips 😉

I think most people are more like you than your friends, I know I am. What helps me is, face fake tan
