A really excellent shower gel?

Can anyone recommend a shower gel that leaves skin feeling really clean (like bar soap does) but not dried out (like bar soap does) and that is very sensitive and won't make my bits sore. Happy to pay any price for a good one, thanks.

I love the L’occtaine ones particularly the almond one

KimMG · 14/08/2022 15:14

Dove - doesn't leave dry skin

dontgobaconmyheart · 14/08/2022 18:36

I don't think I could bring myself to put shower gel on my 'bits', especially if I already had sensitive skin (I do).

It's not expensive but the best I've found is the nivea creme sensitive, or the coconut and jojoba one if you want a fragrance - coconut, Sensitive.

It's never much more than £1, you can get it in most supermarkets, boots etc, poundland even. Feels lovely to use, goes on as a rich cream and lathers well, smells nice and doesn't leave the skin feeling tight albeit I always moisturise after a shower anyway.

Love Beauty Planet is great and £ not ££

LondonWolf · 14/08/2022 18:37

Bath and body works - now stocked in Next, some shops and on line.

I like the moisturising Sanex one

Echobelly · 14/08/2022 18:39

Sanctuary Spa ones are nice - they work well for me and don't irritate my skin, which is quite dry and sensitive.

Mortonpup · 14/08/2022 18:41

Saner here too

PeaceLily2000 · 14/08/2022 18:42

Do you find the dove bar soap dries your skin?
I use that as I feel cleanest with it but I don't find it dries my skin personally.

I have in the past used loccitaine almond shower oil but don't have it all the time as it is pricey but that leaves skin feeling so moisturised and is all round lovely to use!

Xx

An alternative is aleppo soap - amazing stuff. Made of laurel and olive oil - the higher the percentage of laurel the more expensive but better. Although I pay about a tenner a bar it lasts about 5 or 6 months so cheaper than shower gel - properly cleans with no drying. I get off amazon but there are specialist suppliers

Dove soap
Dr Organic soap - from Holland and Barrett.

Shower gel leaves a film on the skin and is more likely to irritate.

Love Milton brown! Can smell them all day!

Pootle40 · 14/08/2022 19:01

MooGoo goats milk soap.

MrsFerguson · 14/08/2022 19:05

Sanex

ArabeI · 14/08/2022 19:05

Jason organic body wash. Huge bottles and good value for money; approx £10.00 for nearly 900ml.

ArabeI · 14/08/2022 19:06

I also use Dove soap.

luckylavender · 14/08/2022 19:11

Korres

Korres

Second this ^

Korres is really underrated.

love their products, treated myself to a shower gel and body cream last week in Guava - oh my god the smell is divine.

pricey - ish. I only use on weekends and when I’m feeling indulgent so it lasts a little longer

iamme21 · 14/08/2022 20:11

I’m here to third Korres, made with olive oil and the scents are amazing. A little goes a long way too.

ButchersGirl · 14/08/2022 20:12

Try the Astonish range of shower gels, three different scents and all leave my skin feeling great.

They tend to be £1 at Home Bargains and unlike so, so many others on the market they are completely Cruelty Free.

PaddleBoardingMomma · 14/08/2022 20:40

Another vote for loccataine Almande shower oil. It’s about £20 a bottle but it’s honestly changed my shower experience, it’s bliss!

Whippetquick · 14/08/2022 20:52

Pears shower liquid soap comes I a big pump bottle for about 3 quid or I like olive oil soap

Musmerian · 17/08/2022 09:06

Mario Badescu botanical aha soap. I absolutely love it as I smell really clean and fresh.

florianfortescue · 17/08/2022 09:36

Fenjal creme body wash is lovely and moisturising and smells delish.
