Can anyone post pictures of stylish mum outfits for 2022? I was going to try instagram but no clue how to locate someone who shows that in their account.

Mums wear the same as non mums surely ?

There is no mum uniform- wear what you like

I tend to wear what I liked to wear before I was a mum, hope that helps.

Er why would being a mum mean you wear specific clothes? Sure some women mention mum tums but plenty of non mums have tums too.

I don’t dress for my children. I just wear clothes I like. Although without kids I would have more money to spend on clothes - is that what you mean? Thrifty stylishness? Although plenty of people are on a budget so it’s still not ‘mum specific.’

Do you mean for breastfeeding?

I wear tops with buttons so I can whip one out for the baby whenever she wants a snack. Working down from that I wear sandals as it’s f*king hot in England right now but they have to be ones I can drive to soft play in. And trousers, skirt or shorts depending on what we are doing and how messy it will get. Mostly designer or boden but it needs to be easily washable. Hair is scraped into a ponytail as I don’t have time to dick around styling with two under three and my SEN child will pull my hair out if its loose. Orange or red are good colours to hide the spaghetti stains.

I think you mean like school gate mums and as this is a forum for mums, I think you mean women in the general sense (30’s onwards).

Sorry about the obtuse replies.

Oh FFS😂 Jeez you guys are narkey.

To be more mumsnet pc (the irony!). If anyone has some idea of what 25-45 yr old women who have a small kid family (rather than party or older kids who don’t need carrying about) lifestyle wear on a day to day basis I’d love to see what’s stylish currently for getting puked on and having sticky fingers pulling at. I said mum because lots of clothes I would wear if not a mum are not comfortable for crawling on the floor wrestling kids into clothes or getting touched with jam hands.

But fine. I’ll instagram for stuff that s comfy but cool for what I need.

(Shakes head wt how depressing this place is at times).

I’m a mum of a one year old. When I’m with her I wear a lot of jeans (“mum” shape generally in a pale wash) and crew neck t shirts, gold hoops and Birkenstocks. I tend to buy decent quality basics and then rotate. I live in London and would say this is a standard look - I’m not exactly pushing the boat out style wise, but I think I look put together and not slovenly. Weekends/date nights are different, but for looking after baby time that tends to be it! Moving into autumn I’ll add a cashmere cardigan or a boxy jumper, then switch sandals for new balance/black boots. I find it much easier to dress now I’m not BF, but tbh the same outfit template sufficed then too. In the very hot weather I have been wearing simple midi sundresses.

For context I am size 10 and tend to shop at Gap/Jigsaw/other stories/whistles. Hope that’s more helpful than above responses! Maybe if you say what your body shape is and what you currently like to wear then people can help if that’s what you’re after.

Oh I also think a bit of fake tan does wonders for making me look more alive and therefore need less makeup. I have easy to style hair which is generally in a low bun or loose.

Just be on holiday & wore long dresses (don't need to be worried about bending over), linen trousers & denim shorts with high neck vests/tanks. footwear platform birkenstock's & some beaded trekky sandals.

I don't worry about Instagram and such, I go to a shop and buy what I like.
Isn't that what everyone does?
Am I weird? 🤔

T-shirt dress, shorts, Birkenstocks or superga

Knew what you meant perfectly. I definitely wear ‘mum’ outfits with my little one all day. As in quick to pull on, match easily, good for moving around in.
Im 32 - usually shop at ASOS, new look, occasionally Zara, pull and bear. Also wear a lot of sportswear like Nike, adidas, gym shark
Outfits for everyday might be:
mom jeans with t-shirts, oversized jumpers, checked shirts, trainers/Birkenstocks
midi dresses
sports leggings and t shirts
denim shorts and oversized t shirts
matching co-ord T-shirt and shorts sets (h and m do good ones)
oversized T-shirt or jumper and cycling shorts

I like to use instagram as inspiration as well as look around at what others are wearing. Think it’s normal to get inspired by lots of places as well as just looking in the shops.

This.
Also women often go through a crisis of confidence in clothing after having a baby and the change of lifestyle that goes with that. I know I did. And these shitty replies don’t help.

That is perfect. I was a size 8-10 for many years, even after the 4 babies and it’s only this last year (possible peri meno and also being on sertraline coincides). I have a mum tum and more weight on so a size 12 now. With a mum/wine/chocolate tum a lot of the slim girl looks I had to age 40 don’t work the same way. I prefer muted tones and simple lines. So greys, blacks, whites and denim. I’m still searching for the ultimate t-shirt, ideally with a turned cuff, not clinging and not see through. I am ready to bin the skinny jeans and adore a boxy woolly jumper. I have a load of cashmere sweaters but they’re a bit tight with the weight I’ve on.

I’ve no issue with my weight, just want to dress it well.

Your style sounds perfect and doable.

Alright alright fair cop, I’m sorry for my comment. It did sound a bit off at first glance though, like being a mum means you need to relate everything with Joules and Boden.

I didn't know what was meant. When I was a mother to an under 5 I wore ferociously tailored suits to work and wafted around in Laura Ashley Tess of the D'Urberville milkmaid outfits, when I wasn't. I.e exactly the same as before children.
