Steam straighteners for a bob?

I have a bob (between chin-length and collarbone) and lots of fine, straight-ish hair that explodes into a frizzy mess on wet and humid days if left to its own devices. Normally wear it straight and always use my GHDs. I would love some beach waves, but annoyingly, curls / waves tend to drop out pretty quickly.

Reading another thread about the L'Oreal Steampod made me remember my first hair straighteners from around 2005 or so. Cheap pair of Babyliss straighteners that also had a water tank and worked with steam. They worked much better in terms of keeping the frizz in check than any of the expensive GHD or Cloud Nine ones I've had since.

Can anyone recommend steam straighteners that would be suitable for a bob? I think the L'Oreal Steampod might be too chunky for putting curls into shorter hair. I'd also prefer to pay a bit less. Seems crazy to spend £200 when a pair of £30 straighteners from the mid-2000s worked really well for me.
