Laser on age spots ?

I’ve got some age spots and freckle type marks on my face which make my face look grubby. A friend has recommended a laser clinic and I’m tempted, but don’t know what to expect in terms of pain, what it looks like after, and price. Anyone had it done or can recommend an alternative ?

I am currently using Vitamin C Serum for this - I think I see a difference

I tried a vit C serum from Boots and it didn’t do anything. Also bought the Pixie glycolic acid toner, again, nothing.

I think lumecca IPL is the best for sun spots/ hyperpigmentation. I have no idea if it hurts. I want to get this done. You can search for salons that do lumecca to find prices. You will normally need a course of 3 or more sessions. The other alternative is to see a cosmetic dermatologist and get a strong retinoid plus other prescription skincare.

And Ive noticed that when I rub my cheek skin it sounds dry and sand paper like, even though it’s not. I use a good quality moisturiser twice a day.

I've had a course of illumi facials, which is IPL treatment for hyperpigmentation. Genuinely can't recommend it enough. I have hormonal melasma as well which it's not got rid of as well as it has the sun damage hyperpigmentation.
Also massively improbed the texture of my skin, getting rid of the crepey fine lines I had over the patches on my cheeks & forehead.

What was it like after the treatment ? Did you get scabs so hid yourself away for a week ?
