Beautiful plus size dressing gowns

I’m looking to treat myself to a really nice dressing gown, something light-medium weight, rather than a big cosy number, and that makes me feel good in while I’m dossing about the house. I love the print kimonos that one hundred stars and Verry Kerry do but as a size 22 I need something that’s not one size fits most, but that will feel comfy and roomy on me. Anybody have any recommendations? TIA!

I recently bought a new dressing gown from Cyberjammies (via M&S). I've been really impressed with the quality and they go up to a size 22.

These are pricey but beautiful dressing gown

Seasalt had some lovely ones last time I looked. I have one from there. It's not really thin fabric but it feels lovely.

@EraOfTheGrey 8-10 weeks for delivery though they are beautiful!

EraOfTheGrey · 12/08/2022 19:34

@ImAvingOops OP is a size 22 and there are 2 in stock in her size. I have this dressing gown on my Christmas list but I believe that I'm deluded.

I've just had a look at Etsy. There are some beautiful ones there

ImAvingOops · 12/08/2022 19:48

@EraOfTheGrey I hope you get your wish

@EraOfTheGrey ive been lusting after a shibum for a while but have heard they’re not particularly robust. What are your thoughts? I’m a bit “dressing gown of doom”. 😳

EraOfTheGrey · 13/08/2022 09:33

To be honest I can't imagine them being an everyday item as they are made from cashmere and silk. I can covet but for the money I can't see them being a great buy. As beautiful as they are I can't imagine them fitting into my lifestyle - accident prone husband, clumsy me and exuberant puppy.

Boybandfacedfannyfart · 13/08/2022 09:37

Yes, that’s what I’m thinking. More suited to my mid-20s wafting around a shiny apartment on a Saturday morning before meeting friends for brunch.

not compatible with kids, animals, crumbs and a standard 40 degree wash.

le sigh.

Another vote for Seasalt. I got one of their Pottering gowns a couple of years ago, and its very generous, and wraps well, unlike some others I've had.

Lucienandjean · 13/08/2022 10:06

Yep. Came here to say Seasalt too. I've got a pottering gown, bought it in xl when I was a size 24 and it wraps round me no problem.

Now I've lost some weight it's still fine as it's so adjustable. Beautifully soft and looks great, much nicer than a thick fleecy gown.

Some inspired MNer had the idea of getting two pottering gowns, and sewing them together so that it was reversible. Genius,
