Going to an event in London with a smart professional dress code. Not my usual attire - I mostly wfh in tee-shirts and jeans.

With a light blazer, would be perfect

girlmom21 · 12/08/2022 14:00

Yes that's lovely!

Lunatoons · 12/08/2022 14:01

what kind of blazer @Littlemissprosecco? Can you tell I’m not very good at this 😂

Absolutely fine - pack a jacket/ smart cardigan in case of ferocious aircon.

I think it's actually a little more wedding-y.

The "rule" used to be for business wear, no armpits or shoulders or toes, and nothing too short, but it's been a good while since I was in business wear 😊

The Elize jacket is on the same website, in cream, pictured with the dress you’ve picked. It’s high summer I think navy would look too heavy

CredibilityProblem · 12/08/2022 14:08

The problem with the Elize cream jacket is that the flowers on the dress are bright white.

If you want to play it 100% safe then I'd go for the Elize navy jacket, which will match the shade. It's the simplest solution.

The matching jacket makes it look too weddingy for me. But I'd happily wear the dress on its own for corporate wear, I've a few similar ones.

I rarely see anyone wearing a jacket now , come to think of it, apart from autumn/winter when you see jeans teamed with a blazer.

Whataretheodds · 12/08/2022 14:29

You could absolutely wear that with a jacket (and without the jacket is fine if it's warm). Florals not an issue.

I work in the City.
